Letter To The Editor

Open Letter From John E. Flowers
(People for Milton)

An e-mail circulated on Sunday naming me as the individual who filed a PAC with the state bearing the name "People for Milton". I was identified in this e-mail solely as "a paid political consultant of the Thurman/Lusk/Longoria group". As usual, thise-mail was only partially true as it A) exaggerated my involvement given I work only with Karen Thurman, and B) left out some very important details about me. I want this opportunity to introduce myself.

I have been a resident of Milton since before incorporation. I teach History at a local college. I am a professional equestrian who is very concerned for the future of the true, competitive, business-driven equestrian community-- not the hobby farm,donkey-owning crowd. I am not merely a political consultant, but a political consultant who was intimately involved in the 2007 Milton City Council campaigns of both Alan Tart, and Julie Zahner-Bailey.

I do not take the decision of who to work for lightly, especially when it has a direct effect on where I live and work. My decision to work for Karen came after Bernard Wolff was selected to run against her and I'd had the opportunity to learn all about him that I could. What I learned made me supremely confident that Julie had not fully vetted her candidate, that Bernard is not the least bit qualified to be on the council, and that Karen's re-election is paramount to the continued stability of Milton.

Bernard Wolff is NOT:

a.. an international businessman as evidenced by the handful of shell corporations registered under his name in Georgia and readily viewed at the Secretary of State's corporation website(http://corp.sos.state.ga.us/corp/soskb/SearchOfficers.asp)

a.. a lifelong resident of Milton, as evidenced by the same corporation documents available on the state's website which clearly shows Bernard's addresses prior to 2004 in Marietta and Atlanta. (http://corp.sos.state.ga.us/imaging/11510466.pdf)(http://corp.sos.state.ga.us/corp/soskb/Corp.asp?645813)

a.. devoted to conservation, as demonstrated by the needless sale of his family's property to developers at the height of the development craze

My arguments are backed up with documentation and my name is attached to them both on this letter and via my lawful registration of an organization. My documentation comes from governing authorities and clearly state their information, without any creative explanation necessary. I dare say that I am the ONLY individual ororganization that is putting my money where my mouth is in this respect.

In 2004 Bernard Wolff was one of many swift-boat veterans who spoke out against then presidential candidate John Kerry. When the cameras were off, so too was his devotion to serving the public good. Milton does not need another show-boat politician. We need solid, proven leadership and devotion to service that won't go away when the excitement of the campaign is over. Vote for Karen Thurman on Nov. 3!

Respectfuly yours,

Jack

John E. Flowers

Also Jack forgot to mention that a couple of days ago Bernard was trying to broker a deal with his family about selling their land, that he sharecrops, to the city and then selling additional development rights so that there would be high density areas in Milton elsewhere. How ethical is this?

Jack, thank you for sharing. Revealing. So you support Karen. Are you voting for all three on that side or are you splitting your votes? You obviously know quite a bit about both sides and I appreciate your honesty.

Bernard Wolff' 's career history :
One of Partners with Scott Seydel, Seydel International
in the 70's & 80's , traveling all over the world exporting textile chemicals. Then hired by Hopton Technologies to market paper chemical technology overseas. Then bought out by Akzo Nobel (Swedish company - Nobel prize fame)
after several more years of service he took his retirement benefits which he still receives. Travel requirements less!
Betty Ann Wolff - his wife! I traveled the world with him, we were out of the country six months out of the year in the early years of our marriage, then I was content to be home with two babies in diapers and not be envious -- international travel is fun, interesting , but physically grueling.
The strange thing is that his brother John who has sent this vile report was also a friend of Scott Seydel. How he could forget over 30 years of history is beyond me!

You can also check and see that the name on the deed to this property has been in the Wolff famiy since the 1940's. The Wolff children spent their childhood here, it was a welcome escape from the demands of Dr. Bernard P. Wolff's medical practice. Their grandfather,Joseph E. Brown, descendant of two previous governors of Georgia, owned a farm in Alpharetta. Sibling John Wolff is unhappy about the terms of their parents' will. Don't be fooled by these lies.

Thanks Betty Ann. I will proudly cast my vote for Bernard, Al Trevillyan and Tina D'Aversa in the morning.

Mr. Flowers must have been too busy being a "political consultant" to check the facts. Its disturbing that he would question someone's integrity without knowing for sure. That is the lowest form of humanity.

Been in the city since before it was founded? Wow. Please go on, oh wise one.

Lucky he's got several jobs.

Not sure Mr. Flowers really does live in Milton a po box at the Crossroads. What kind of operation is Karen Thurman running?

Anonymous said...

Intimately involved in the Tart and Zahner Bailey campaign? Now who is far from the truth?

Is he a consultant for a company called Birmingham Sewer Development? Or is that the name of his horse farm at the Crossroads? That UPS mailbox seems a bit tight for all those sewer pipes & horses & Jack. Hm... maybe it's the new Smart Growth.

No Jack is a professional equestrian so it is the location of his horse farm.

Maybe he knows Tina then, isnt she equestrian-centric?

So Karen's a Julie Pup, too! Thanks for sharing the consulting connection, Jack. Otherwise no one would've known.

No Karen is not a pup and she is also not a shrill moonbat either.

You Zahnerites are absolute idiots, or disengenuous...maybe just both.

I just got an autodial from Julie, of all people.
She is "all in", as they say in Vegas. Invariably, she hides in the shadows like the wimpy Wizard of Oz, operating via dupes like Leona Cole, Paula Moore, pathetic Carol and nutty Nikky. This time, she is so desperate, the One herself has come out for her cast of candidates.
Her call says Milton will be the same if we vote her way...and it WILL!!!
In other words, no improvement, no parks, no quality of life increases, no tax relief, nothing.
Just a desperate longing for something that only exists in some minds every fall during elections. Anyone who really wants to protect, improve, save Milton needs to run away from the Z-ites as fast as they can.

Let's really do something innovative with our horse community, get parks that are the envy of the region, keep one acre,(regardless of who connects to EXISTING sewer pipes to protect the environment). Julie and her gang haven't done anything innovative in their lives. Look at Tina: uses co-hosts for events she hasn't gotten permission from, signs in places without permission, when corrected she extorts concessions or fires from City committees. She tried to veto the parks authority, didn't start disability awareness as claimed, didn't do much of anything. When an apparently reasonable opponent surfaces, she tries to bribe him to drop out...so she can save her sacred seat & title. Oh, she isn't a professor, she is an "instructor". Doesn't sound so cool.
We should be much more concerned about a man's brother going public saying he is unfit for a position of public trust, than some silly trumped up claim of an obscure company scandal.

Get real, go vote. The only truth is this IS an important election. In Dist 5, if Tina does win, we will have to pay $100k for a special election, undoubtedly, unless the City sues Tina due to her misconduct and makes her pay...which she can't.

Julie and her gang haven't run a business, held a job and most seem to have trouble selecting spellcheck when they blog. Do you really want moonbats running a $20million business, with your money and your property value at stake?

I don't.
