Officers checking evidence to see if youths may be tied to other crimes
MILTON, GA, March 17, 2011 - Milton police announced today two juveniles have been charged with one count of burglary each after being arrested in connection with a February break-in at the Villages of Devonshire, a condominium community on Deerfield Parkway in Milton.
Milton Police Chief Deborah Harrell said detectives are examining property seized through a search warrant to see if the youths could be involved in up to four other recent burglaries in the Deerfield Parkway/Ga. 9 corridor area, including break-ins at the Orion at Deerfield Village apartments and Fairmont subdivision.
The youths, who are both under 17, cannot be identified by state law. Both were remitted to Metro Regional Youth Detention Center in Atlanta.
"I can't say enough how pleased I have been with the tremendous amount of time and effort our uniform patrol officers and criminal investigators have spent running down leads in this case,"
said Harrell. "I am extremely proud of their hard work."
