MILTON, Ga. (AP) - Police say a Norcross man who had been pulled over in Milton fled on foot, leaving his 6-year-old son along with 7 pounds of marijuana and thousands of dollars in cash.
A police report says an officer clocked a car driven by 28-year-old Monroe LeBeau at 49 mph in a 35 mph zone Tuesday night.
Milton police say LeBeau tried to carjack two cars before he was arrested.
Police say that in addition to the crying child, LeBeau left the marijuana and about $80,000 in vacuum-sealed packages.
LeBeau was charged with obstruction, attempted robbery, reckless conduct, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, seatbelt violation, speeding and failure to maintain lane.
Police say LeBeau was booked into the Fulton County Jail, and his son was placed with a relative.
