Dear Milton Citizens, Friends and Neighbors,
Thanks to those who attended the kick-off meeting yesterday afternoon with Lew Oliver presenting regarding the future planning of Crabapple with a definite impact on the whole of Milton. In addition to outlining the need to review the "good, the bad and the ugly" as it relates to the current state of Crabapple and other areas of Milton, it was emphasized that immediate sessions for all citizens, business owners, property owners, equestrian oriented folks, schools, churches and more were open to the public and that your participation is desired and required.
I recognize that this timeline is quick, i.e. there are meetings as soon as tomorrow, March 15th through Friday and again early next week March 21 - 25th. It is for this reason I am urging you to make time in your busy schedules to please participate in one or several of these sessions. The future of Milton depends on your involvement.
Stakeholder group meetings - Tues., March 15 & Wed. March 16 - All are welcome!
Stakeholder groups -- those directly affected by the master planning process -- will meet throughout the next two days. These groups may have been previously contacted by City of Milton planning staff, but also may not have been aware of the specific meeting schedule. As with all planning meetings, the public at large is welcome to attend.
- Crabapple business owners: Tuesday, March 15 at 10 a.m.
- Crabapple churches and schools: Tuesday, March 15 at noon.
- Historic Preservation Commission: Tuesday, March 15 at 2 p.m.
- Crabapple property owners:Wednesday, March 16 at 10 a.m.
- Crabapple neighborhoods: Wednesday, March 16 at noon.
- Parks and Recreation Advisory Board: Wednesday, March 16 at 2 p.m.
Note: You are welcome to attend any of these sessions as well as those below. It is important to ensure your voice is heard.
Design Open Houses
Non-structured design open houses will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at City Hall weekdays starting Thursday, March 17 and lasting through Tuesday, March 29. The public is invited to stop by and talk during these times. Comment cards will also be available for written input.
Please note: These open houses will segue into the March 21, 22 and 25 meetings listed below.
Working Professional and Family Night
For many Milton residents, the most convenient meeting may be on Monday, March 21 at 7 p.m. following the regularly scheduled City Council meeting. Prior to the meeting, design sketches will be posted at the City of Milton's Web site, http://r20.rs6.net/tn.jsp?llr=wfgv5xbab&et=1104831860255&s=6214&e=001uxEWeIYt-FtjXlV-xMf1b82FCkKxxkE8fhTexJgTDW-ttRPytvSJmkYeKKHboIj-Lqvp6Cae93Qw8ZTO69v9DUzpLDg5f35us2tHXaCjtaSydlMLkyaO7g==, on the home page and linked from the day's calendar event.
Progress meetings
There also are two progress meetings Tuesday, March 22 and Friday, March 25 at 4 p.m. at Milton City Hall. These meetings will include drawings and presentations on how the planning is evolving based on the input from the previous meetings.
This process, presented by Lew Oliver, Inc. Whole Town Solutions, is aimed at updating and retooling the existing Crabapple Crossroads Master Plan to more accurately reflect the economic, transportation and growth realities of the area.
Thank you for caring enough about your community to be involved and engaged. Every voice, every comment and every person makes all the difference.

Why dont folks just go to the city website instead of her poor atempt to copy it and add her scream for attention?
We can't depend on the city website for unbiased reporting. Julie is right to post on access milton.
She sure is, and should be considered the "gospel". But on the other hand what are you talking about? The city does a much better job communicating with us than both the county before or any other city out there.
That's why only after residents, thru the Milton grapevine, and access Milton exposing the break ins, then and only then did they, over thirty days later, send out an email about the burglaries. U call that A good job? Hah, in a deaf and blind world.
Well then why didnt Julie tell you about them?
she's not in my grapevine.
does she still have a grapevine?
