D'Aversa Family Adopts Milton Road

Dear Milton Neighbor,

Thank you for supporting my campaign for re-election. I have received hundreds of emails and calls about signs and support. If you could like a sign, please email me at
tdaversa@bellsouth.net.

Our support is tremendous and I am forever humbled by the support everyone has shown me.

During this time, I have not lost sight of why I am here as your public servant and leader. I continue to work diligently through our financial planning process and in the planning process and through the transition period as the city moves from CH2MHILL to internal city employees and alternative systems.

On a fun note, I am very proud to announce that the D'Aversa family in partnership with the Milton Milers walking club have adopted a road in Milton.

We wanted to adopt the area of Highway 9 that runs through Milton but since Highway 9 is a State Highway, the process is lengthy. We have applied for this job and hope to have this adoption finalized when the state resumes the process.

At this time, it is my honor to announce that we have adopted Milton's own Bethany Bend Road east of Highway 9.

Our goal as a family is to clean up and maintain the right of way along this road. As co-sponsor of the Hopewell Middle School Eco-Explorers Club, our environment is very important to me and my students. Adopting this small area of Milton is just one way we can all give back to our community.

I appreciate the Milton Grows Green and City of Milton for allowing my family to adopt the road. It is an honor to be a part of keeping Milton Beautiful and green!

Want to adopt a road and contribute something positive for your community?
Information is available on the City of Milton web site and pasted below for your review.

As always, I am but a phone call away, If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact me by telephone or email
tdaversa@bellsouth.net or tina.daversa@thecityofmiltonga.us (for city related business only).

Milton Grows Green: Adopt-A-Road

The Adopt-A-Road Program has been established by Milton Grows Green of the City of Milton in order to help maintain the aesthetic appearance of our city by holding routine sweeps of main and arterial streets. The program will be available to any subdivision, club, organization, business, school, church, or individual who is interested in performing a communityservice and help to improve the appearance and quality of living for the City of Milton. The Adopt-A-Road program will allow groups to adopt a minimum of one-half mile of roadway that has been designated for adoption by the city. If a group would like more than the minimum one-half mile they may adopt more roadway at onehalfmile intervals.
Once the roadway has been adopted and all proper paperwork filled out and turned into the Milton Grow Green Adopt-A-Road coordinator, the group will set their first scheduled clean up date. Once the cleanup is scheduled and all safety rules have been reviewed, the volunteer group leader can pick up their Adopt-A-Road Safety Kit.

The safety kit will contain many items to help keep volunteers safe on the roadways. After completion of clean up, the safety kit, recognition sign request form, and completion form will need to be turned in to the Milton Grows Green Adopt-A-Road coordinator. Approximately one month after completing the first scheduled cleanup, the city will install Adopt-A-Road signs with the group's name at the beginning of the adopted area. This area must be adopted for a minimum of oneyear and a minimum of four sweeps must be performed per year. Each time a sweep is completed, the group will complete a completion form to recording purposes. At the end of the year, the group will have first right of refusal oncontinuing the adoption of the road if they completed the previous year's requirement of four sweeps.

The group will be given this opportunity until they no longer want to participate with the Adopt-A-Road program. When the group decides it no longer wants to participate in the Adopt-A-Road program, Milton Grows Green must be contacted so Adopt-A-Road signs can be removed. It is the goal of Milton Grows Green to get the community involved with keeping our city a clean, safe place for the citizens, visitors, and businesses and with your help we can make the City of Milton a better place to live, visit andwork.

In addition, for every six participants at or under the age of 18, one adult supervisor is encouraged to be present.

Anyone else think the timing on this is a little suspect?
Maybe a nice idea 14 months ago, shameless politics 4 months ago, desperate frantic reelection move now, 4 weeks before the election.
So stupid at this point, it does her more harm than good.

Anonymous said...

I'll second that. Reckon she was ever blond?

For the Tina apologist elsewhere who suggested she isn't stupid enough to actually email a bribe from her city account, here is your answer. Indeed she is capable of idiotic thoughts, deeds and statements.
As for blond, she has probably maqueraded as one, just as she masquerades as a conservative.

Tina, your road adoption papers may not be valid as Milton does not have a Bethany Bend ROAD.

In 2002 Fulton County divided Bethany Rd into three distinctive parts and renamed as follows:

Bethany Road from Mid Broadwell to Hagood Rd.

Bethany Way from Hagood Rd to Hopewell Rd.

Bethany BEND from Hopewell to McGinnis Ferry.

God, PLEASE shut the hell up! Do you people just sit around and think of ways to spew venom? Must be nice to have that kind of time on your hands. Thank God you people aren't running our city, or are you? Maybe that is the problem.

Maam, the thoughts offered that you are whining about are clearly in response to silly, idiotic initiatives by a public figure. It seems a proportional response to a ridiculous persona, with significant provocation. It is hardly venomous to share the reactions of the bloggers. You are obviously appealing to the emotion of rational thinkers, with little impact. Sorry your feelings are hurt.

I'm just glad Tina finally made a decision.

I'd pay to see Tina out on Bethany Bend cleaning up trash wearing an orange jumpsuit!

I would like to see all of the council and mayor out cleaning up trash on Miltons roadways. THAT is community service!

Not the ones they live on.

I saw JZB at the Crabapple Arts Festival in a "Milton Trusts Tina" tee shirt and nice fitting jeans. She might not be able to govern, but she sure filled out those jeans quite well. I'm rethinking her potential.

Anonymous said...

Potential! How about co-staring in "Desparate Housewives of Milton"?

She's not married.

Anonymous said...

Well, she is half-way married. The Bailey part at the end of her name is a token of being married.

It is Webb Road. Same song, second verse. Tina needs to learn the territory.

Where is Burt Hewitt in all this campaign talk. He is a city councilman isn't he. Alan has spoken, Joe Lockwood has spoken. Does Burt not have a voice. Speak up Burt!
