Vote for Tina D'Aversa and Vote for Preserving Milton

Dear Milton Neighbor,

Thank you for supporting me for re-election to the Milton City Council. Your support is tremendous and I am forever humbled by the support everyone has shown me. It is my continued honor to serve all of Milton.

Below is an email from a Milton neighbor. Mrs. Chambers, her husband and three children live in Milton. They have three children who go to Milton schools. While they live in Hermitage subdivision and not on a horse farm (like so many of our neighbors), they love the rural character of Milton and have supported the city knowing we incorporated to preserve the rural and equestrian centric character of Milton and to bring local control to Milton. Mrs. Chambers asked me to email this message to the citizens of Milton that I have on my email distribution. Please feel good about forwarding this message to your friends and neighbors as it is important that everyone in Milton vote November 3, 2009. In order to preserve our community for the next 20 years, we must continue to elect leaders who have the interest of our community at heart; leaders will remain strong when political pressure is on; leaders who will vote to support the law and our land use plans even when development pressures are strong. Yes, we need funding for our city, but we have many options and do not need to lose sight of the reason we incorporated as a city: Local control to preserve and protect our diverse, rural lifestyle. I have not changed my vision for Milton....if you love the diverse cultural character of Milton, do something to support the vision.

Vote November 3, 2009, Tina D'Aversa, a leader you can trust to support you and the vision of Milton!

Please read Tara's email and send her your comments.

Thank you!

Tina D'Aversa for Milton
In 2006, I provided my clear vision of Milton: Preserving our equestrian heritage and diverse lifestyles, managing and funding appropriate growth.
I have listened to the citizens of Milton and, my vision is the same in 2009 as the day I came to Milton.

Vote for Tina D'Aversa, November 3, 2009

______________________________

From Mrs. Tara Chambers

Election day (November 3rd) is 2 weeks and 3 days away - Do you know the issues? Are you ready to cast your vote? This is a very important election for Milton and we need to make sure that the Milton residents get out there and VOTE. Please encourage everyone you know to learn the issues and most importantly to vote on Tuesday, November 3rd. There are 3 Milton City Council seats that we will ALL be voting on (Mayor Lockwood is running uncontested). I am supporting 3 candidates very strongly in this election and urge you to do the same. We have a huge issue here in Milton with the fact that developers want to get in and decide how our city will look. We need to stop this. Development is good and we need the tax base, but it is the Milton residents who should be deciding how the city will look in the future and what we need, not developers telling us what we need. I feel very strongly about this election because we have 2 incumbents who I strongly believe do NOT represent out best interests. Councilmember's Lusk and Thurman have consistently voted in favor of developers over what the residents want and need. It upsets me to no end to see their campaign funding coming from developers and all of their signs around town on developer's property and land that is for future development. With this much support and help from developers, how can we possibly trust them to be putting our best interests above the developers - especially when they both are so closely aligned personally with the development community. Just look at their voting record and it is easy to see where their loyalty lies. I believe that our commercial areas need business for the tax base, but developing more and more shopping centers doesn't help our tax base, it only helps the developers line their pockets. Milton doesn't get the tax revenue unless there are actually businesses doing business in these buildings!!!! Stop the developing and concentrate on getting businesses into all the empty office and retail space we have. There are 3 people running who I hope you will each take the time to learn more about then get out there and vote for them on November 3rd. Tina D'Aversa (incumbent) - Tina D'Aversa has been one of our City Council people since the City of Milton incorporated and she has worked tirelessly to represent ALL of Milton. For me, Tina is especially vital to this city council because she lives here along highway 9, she teaches at Hopewell Middle Schools and she knows the issues inside and out. Ms. D'Aversa has three sons and they attend Milton schools. She is smart and does her due diligence before making a decision or casting a vote. I respect her very much. Tina stands for what is right and I think this election shows it. She has been persecuted by those who do not want her independent thinking to risk their uncontrolled development goals. Tina isn't afraid to stand up for what she thinks the people of Milton need and deserve. Tina votes to support the law. She has adhered to our city ordinances and state laws time and time again. Her votong record speaks miles about Tina D'Aversa. She has integrity and is of high moral and ethical stature. She will continue to protect and preserve Milton when re-elected November 3, 2009.
Please learn more about Tina D'Aversa - http://www.tinadaversa.com/ Al Trevillyan (Write in Candidate!!) - Al Trevillyan is running against Bill Lusk and the fact that he is a "write in" is going to make this tough. To vote for Al you will need to check off the "write in" box and then type his name in. Please be sure to write his name down on a piece of paper and bring it to the polls with you so there is no chance of your vote not counting due to a misspelling of his name. We need to get Al Trevillyan into office. Al has been very vocal about the City needing to do more to fill those empty retail and office spaces. He has been very vocal about no more high density housing and the fact that we need to manage the traffic better. Al believes, as do I, that Mr. Bill Lusk has voted over and over again for higher density, sewer extension and other variances that benefit developers, not those of us who live here. I also want to mention the reason why Al Trevillyan is a write in candidate (this was something I personally wondered about). It is my understanding that someone else said they were going to be running against Mr. Lusk and Al Trevillyan did not think it was beneficial to anyone to have 3 people running for the one position and possibly causing a run-off, so Al Trevillyan did not file the paperwork to be put on the ballet. After the deadline passed, it turned out that this other person did not file to run and with that knowledge Al Trevillyan decided that someone had to run against Mr. Lusk and he would do it as a "write in candidate". Please learn more about Al Trevillyan - http://www.al4milton.com/index.cfm Bernard Wolff - Bernard Wolff is someone that I hope each and every one of you takes the time to get to know. This is someone I definitely want representing me on City Council. Bernard Wolff has seen Milton change over the years and I believe that this is someone that can take his education and professional background (MBA from Wharton & 25 years of international experience developing export businesses for American products) and apply them to help Milton become successful in attracting businesses that compliment us as well as help us maintain our character, uniqueness and a place we are all proud to call home. What has impressed me the most about Bernard Wolff is his desire to speak personally with as many individual residents in Milton as possible. He is hungry to learn what it is that the people want and then to do his best in representing us all on the Milton City Council. No hidden agenda or future political aspirations!! Please learn more about Bernard Wolff -

Again, I strongly urge all of you to learn more about these candidates and then to get out on November 3rd and vote for them. Please E-mail me and let me know if you would permit me to put a sign for any or all of these candidates in your yard or place of employment. Just E-mail me your address and I will take care of the rest. Thanks for your interest and VOTE!!!!!

Who the heck is Tara Chambers and why should I give her any more credence than I do Tina. Birds of a feather flock together.....

If the city of Milton is blinded by these lies, they will elect the liars they deserve.

On the other hand, if the city of Milton recognizes the leadership of Thurman, Lusk and Longoria who do not lie about their opponents but stand on their own merit, they will elect the leaders they deserve.

I hope Milton checks the facts before reading the propaganda. It is a shame how people will lie for a city council position. And I feel sorry for the people who believe the untruths.

Tara lives on sewer, doesn't she?

"I'm in, don't let anyone else move here!!"

But, so does Tina, doesn't she?

What sincerely bothers me the most is that Tina is a religion teacher at St. Thomas Aquinas.

I plan to compile all of her lies (and proof she was lying) and take it to the priest. She is unfit to teach religion.

I will take her position so as not to leave the church in a bind. It makes me sick to think she is influencing kids in this fashion.

We don't know you so how do we know that you aren't capable of lying?

Give us your name so that we can delve into your life and see if you're suitable to teach our children religion.

Give me your name and we can change information.

Yes, you caught me. I would lie to save a life, I would lie to spare someone's feelings. I would not lie to win a Milton City Council Election... it is too pathetic to even consider...

Poor sad Tina, Al and Bernard - they have been reduced to this...

Like the poster above, and a person of faith, the only thing that bugs me more than the lies and bribes is prostituting the Catholic faith as a springboard. Or maybe, pimpin' up the disabled, same, same.
Ours is not to judge, but certainly those of us who know the truth can discern the vote.

The previous poster, you are the discredulous one who is using religion and the disabled to twist the reality of her accomplishments. But you face the Maker and answer for those comments. What have you done for your community? Post your name so we can do unto you, what you are trying to do unto her. Eye for an eye. But you are a coward and won't come forward. Easy to make harsh accusations behind a monitor isn't it. Did you attack Gordon Hunter for his religion, or Joe Lockwood for his and the church he attends? Or what about Karen and Bill's? Oh you wouldn't dare attack them, you support them, how silly of me.. Hypocrite you are. John Fredericks you are. Gee John, I didn't think you actually blogged on AM? too busy writing crap for your own Enquirer.

You are drinking the juice, honey. Religion does not belong in politics. Period. End of story.

So only Atheists should run for office then, since if you attend church that disqualifies you for public office? You are the Liberal drinking the koolaid, Honey!

Hey Everybody, calling all non-Christians and Atheists, there are 7 council seats up for grabs, because if you worship God or Jesus Christ the blogger on this site thinks you have no business in politics!!

Who cares what religion you practice. That's not the point.
