Milton Trusts Tina: Leadership, Experience and Balanced Decision Making

News From Tina D'Aversa

Dear Milton Neighbor,

Thank you for supporting me for re-election to the Milton City Council.

It is important that you vote November 3, 2009. In order to preserve our community and protect the equestrian lifestyle nestled in a balanced business arena. We must continue to elect leaders who have the interest of our community at heart; leaders who will remain strong when political pressure is on; leaders who will vote to uphold the law and our land use plans even when development pressures are strong. Yes, we need funding for our city, but we have many options and do not need to lose sight of the reason we incorporated as a city: Local control to preserve and protect our diverse, rural lifestyle. I have not changed my vision for Milton....if you love the diverse cultural character of Milton, do something to support the vision:

Vote November 3, 2009, Tina D'Aversa, a community leader you can trust to support you; be fair and uphold the vision of Milton!

Protecting and Preserving ALL of Milton, Tina D'Aversa
Milton City Council Member
District 5 at Large

Tina D'Aversa for Milton

In 2006, I provided my clear vision of Milton: Preserving our equestrian heritage and diverse lifestyles, managing and funding appropriate growth.
I have listened to the citizens of Milton and, my vision is the same in 2009 as the day I came to Milton.

Vote for Tina D'Aversa, November 3, 2009

Why would anyone vote for Tina. If elected, she will just have to be removed from office in the Spring when the State finds her guilty of ethics violations. Replacing her is going to cost the city. I would rather see that money used for something else.

A vote for Tina is a waste.
A vote for Tina is a vote for waste.

Tina is spending a fortune to tell us that we trust her. Baloney!! Tina has brought shame to our city.

This photo was taken at the recent Christmas tree planting. Not at a "Tina" event. Look closely at who is I'm the photo. Did they know their photo was being used for political gain?

Anonymous said...

Milton cannot trust Tina except to violate the ethics of her office and then claim she didn't "knowingly" do it. She knew that she was offering her opponent something in exchange for him dropping out of the race. That should have been enough. Tina has VIOLATED Milton's trust.

All:

We have had claims from both sides about political signs being stolen. Unless you can provide a police report or eye witness willing to provide their name phone number and address for confirmation, such posts will be deleted.

Thank you,

They are LUCKY she only stole a yard sign. Other Longoria supporters have been removed from committees, threatened with economic boycotts and generally bullied all over Milton.

I TRUST TINA to abuse her power.

What are you going to complain about when Tina is found not guilty?

How can Tina not be guilty? The state ethics official has said that she can be cleared ONLY if she proved someone hacked into her computer. She has already admitted to sending the email so...

It is only a matter of time.

Anonymous said...

Perhaps someone needs to bring the States Ethics Official up on Ethics Charges. I cannot believe for one minute that it's acceptable, professional or ethical of him to make a public comment of that nature. Seems like his mind is already made up.

What ever happened to innocent until proven guilty and a fair trial? Or does that only apply to a select few?

I am in this photo and would like everyone to know that I was there to celebrate the tree planting, not to have a rally for Tina.

It's extremely disappointing that the photo was used in such a manner.

If I had realized the photo was being taken for reasons other than to celebrate the planning, I would not be in it.

It would be nice if it were in the paper though...never hurts ; )

The email is very incriminating. It proves all three of the State's questions.

Did she use her city email account for political or personal purposes? yes

Did she make an offer to an opposing candidate? yes

Did she have something to gain from the offer? yes

You can't blame the guy when the whole city has access to the email.

Milton knows better this time around!

But good try with the "Milton Trust Tina" WE DO NOT....

Anonymous said...

I disagree. You absolutely can blame him. It does not matter who has or has not seen the email.

He is passing judgment on others indiscretions and as such he better make sure he holds himself to higher standards in all aspects of his job.

Tim, this is one picture that Access Milton should not have allowed on their website without permission from everyone in the photo. I think it needs to be removed immediately !!!!!!! Some of these citizens are not voting for Tina but it makes them look like they are supporting her. Get it off now!!!!!!! How dare she do this? I am hoping this will be pulled like you pull some comments. It is in your control now so we will see how you handle this situation.

Get this off now. Not all these people support Tina. They were there only for the planting of Miltons Christmas tree. Little did they know they would be used like this. Guess it makes you wonder how she is using the citizens of Milton in other ways!

Anonymous said...

Let's go back to the blogger who wrote the following message about the tree - especially the last sentence below...

Anonymous said...
Lisa would have donated this tree regardless of which ever council member asked her to. If Karen or Bill had made the request you wouldn't even had opened your mouth about it. Why don't you call Lisa to discuss, I am sure she would be delighted to give you her point of view on it.

There is nothing political about donating a Tree to the City. It is YOU who want to make it political.

All campaign content that we receive is cut and pasted - simple as that. I have had similar concerns from the opposite side of the coin and left the ad exactly as it was sent to us. If you have issue with what a candidate is sending out, I advise you take it up with them.

Don't shoot the messenger.

If Tina is to be trusted why is she not using her Milton email address?

Anonymous said...

We need to push Access Milton to get this ad off. This is false advertising Tim. You can get it off if you want to. This does not speak highly of Access Milton to me. Access Milton is printing it, Tina is not. This ad is not right to the Citizens who are not supporting her. It makes them look like liars!

The sky is falling, the sky is falling.

Anonymous said...

This is another reason, strike twelve, of why we cannot trust Tina.

Milton does not trust Tina.
Milton does not respect Tina.
Tina is rudderless.

Anonymous said...

All this nonsense was started when you clowns voted in favor of incorporation.

Never had such foolishness previously.

I was proud to be part of that tree ceremony. If I had waited on Lusk, Thurman or Longoria to invite me I would still be waiting. Children are learning through Ms. D'Aversa's Eco Explorers club the importance of preserving our environment. It was a joy to see the eco club there. The tree is beautiful and it's about time Milton had some sort of identity of it's own. We may not have a "main" street but we have a Christmas tree! So, fellow citizens, when it is tree decorating time - get out there and help!!

Thurman has the real ethics problems--cheating poor people serving in the military

Anonymous said...

How much is John Fredericks being paid to not print questions of Karen Thurman's ethics?

Anonymous said...

Where did Karen and Bill go, they were in the picture too! They could use the picture as well since they were there for the event, not like anyone had the exclusive on the event. So what! You people are ri-dicalus.

Anonymous said...

what is the thurman comment all over the place about her cheating the military?

Anonymous said...

I am in this picture and I do not support TINA. Why is this here? I was unhappy that people were wearing Milton Trusts Tina shirts and I should have walked away when they took photos. I guess I never dreamed Tina would use this in her ads to give the false impression that we all support her. There are also city employees in the photo. How desperate is this woman?

Anonymous said...

Yeah, thought that was you in the picture.

Anonymous said...

There are city employees in this photo who cannot support a candidate under the ethics ordinance. This could be the basis for an additional ethics complaint. She is also portraying them and others who are in the photo and don't support her in a false light and using their images without their permission which is also a valid basis for a lawsuit. Tina, you just keep stepping in it.

Anonymous said...

And who this time is going to do anything about it. Lots of talk and no action. if you were in that photo and do not support Tina then do something about it. Send it to the Beacon and let them take care of it. They are pretty good about following up on things like this. Maybe it could go to print before Tuesdays election and let Tinas supporters see what else she has done unethical!

Milton's tax revenues are down greater than 20% because of the reduction in property values, and Tina's response is to plant a tree and have her eco explorers group there. That's great, but that is not the major issue facing this City right now and this election. Our City had little revenue to begin with and a small margin of error, so why hasn't Tina addressed this major issue during this campaign? This fluff photo just points out again Tina's lack of Leadership skills and a lack of seriousness.

I am sure that Tina is a wonderful teacher and heck, from what I have seen of her, I think it would be fun to share a margarita with her, but governing is serious business for serious, talented people and she is just over her head.

Anonymous said...

If the revenue had been up 20% would it have been o.k. to plant the tree? By the way, didn't Thurman & Lusk attend this event?

Anonymous said...

Had the other council person's been the sponsors they would have and could have done the same. Is it any different if your picture had been taken at the Roundup, which by the way completely stunk this year. Who ever wins this election I suggest they take the roundup back to the Methodist church grounds or watch the roundup cease to exist. If they have it at MHS again I'll pass on it. No hometown feel and it was too spread out, very weird this year. There was nothing to it.

Anonymous said...

And you idiots that have it out for Tina, are the same people that do ABSOLUTELY nothing about people like Charlie Rangle who lied about over $5million dollars in taxes. His tax evasion is proven and he is still in office, but all you all want to focus on is a little local election with BS charges against a woman who has represented Milton repectfully over 3 years and kept every single one of her promises. And you all are dumb enough to by into this BS because that is the ONLY way Longoria can get elected by coming up with the half baked BS twisting the truth.
A vote for Longoria Lusk and Thurman is a vote for Sewer, a Vote for development and a step closer to Milton turning into Alpharetta and Johns Creek, and Sandy Springs.

Anonymous said...

It is not false advertising for a council member who sponsored an event, no matter what the event is, for he or she to use a picture from the event as they stand with residents at that event. If Karen or Bill had sponsored this event then none of you would be complaining. Get over it. There is nothing mentioned about the event in her ad, or the Christmas tree, so it is not false advertising, nothing is being advertised.

You Zahnerites are absolute idiots, or disengenuous...maybe just both.

I just got an autodial from Julie, of all people.
She is "all in", as they say in Vegas. Invariably, she hides in the shadows like the wimpy Wizard of Oz, operating via dupes like Leona Cole, Paula Moore, pathetic Carol and nutty Nikky. This time, she is so desperate, the One herself has come out for her cast of candidates.
Her call says Milton will be the same if we vote her way...and it WILL!!!
In other words, no improvement, no parks, no quality of life increases, no tax relief, nothing.
Just a desperate longing for something that only exists in some minds every fall during elections. Anyone who really wants to protect, improve, save Milton needs to run away from the Z-ites as fast as they can.

Let's really do something innovative with our horse community, get parks that are the envy of the region, keep one acre,(regardless of who connects to EXISTING sewer pipes to protect the environment). Julie and her gang haven't done anything innovative in their lives. Look at Tina: uses co-hosts for events she hasn't gotten permission from, signs in places without permission, when corrected she extorts concessions or fires from City committees. She tried to veto the parks authority, didn't start disability awareness as claimed, didn't do much of anything. When an apparently reasonable opponent surfaces, she tries to bribe him to drop out...so she can save her sacred seat & title. Oh, she isn't a professor, she is an "instructor". Doesn't sound so cool.
We should be much more concerned about a man's brother going public saying he is unfit for a position of public trust, than some silly trumped up claim of an obscure company scandal.

Get real, go vote. The only truth is this IS an important election. In Dist 5, if Tina does win, we will have to pay $100k for a special election, undoubtedly, unless the City sues Tina due to her misconduct and makes her pay...which she can't.

Julie and her gang haven't run a business, held a job and most seem to have trouble selecting spellcheck when they blog. Do you really want moonbats running a $20million business, with your money and your property value at stake?

I don't.
