State Farm, Meyer's Deli open on Ga. 9

MILTON, GA., March 17, 2010 - The City of Milton is excited and pleased to welcome two more small business owners into the city.

Representatives from the City of Milton, including Mayor Joe Lockwood and City Council members Bill Lusk and Karen Thurman, attended ribbon cutting ceremonies March 10 at Meyer's Deli and State Farm Insurance. The businesses neighbor each other at 12890 Ga. 9 in Milton.

Jon Jones, owner of the State Farm office, said he is thrilled to be a part of the City of Milton's growing economy. His office provides auto, life, home, renters', life and condo insurance, plus a full range of financial services, out of its location in Suite 150 at 12890 Ga. 9.

"I like the small-town atmosphere Milton provides," he said. "And the people at City Hall have been really easy to work with."

Howard Lichtman, owner of Meyer's Deli, couldn't agree more. He said he was especially impressed with Milton's friendly permit technicians, inspectors and fire marshal.

"I'm very excited to be in the City of Milton," he said. "Everyone here has reached out and made us feel welcome. We moved from Johns Creek and are looking forward to a fresh start here."

The business, located in Suite 160 of 12890 Ga. 9, is an authentic New York deli and bakery specializing in a range of sandwiches, pastries, cheesecake and more. Meyer's also features a full catering menu.

Lockwood, who owns Alpharetta-based J.K. Lockwood Construction, said as a small business owner himself, he knows how tough it can be to strike out on your own. As such, he is proud to have two new entrepreneurs choose Milton as the place to make their dreams come true.

"I wish them well and hope our citizens help them out by using their businesses often," he said.
