Looks o.k. to me.

You guys are deranged and have no clue.

They didn't want to give up old Milton hs because now they are vying for Gwinnett Tech to come in and run a satellite campus out of there. I agree that mistakes were made long ago about location. Old Milton site would've been better choice.

Cauley aside, Milton HS should represent its city - Milton, not Roswell. The BOE has set down a road to deliberately destroy what is a "gem" in an otherwise disappointing Fulton County school system. There are many out there who would rather see MHS torn apart rather than work to improve their own schools. Our own very illustrious BOE member responded to an email by saying that "we want ALL of our North Fulton schools to be great." 'Nuff said. MHS and its current student body over-achieved for Fulton Co., and they must be stopped.

All:

If you have come back to witness the attacks against specific Milton residents, sorry to disappoint.

While Accessmilton.com will allow
some deviation from the post topic at hand, this thread got way out of hand.

Truth be known, if any side wants to be mad at anyone, the should point their angst towards the Fulton County Board of Education. They are the ones cutting a city in half.

Tim, yeah right! The community is cracking up this morning.

The board of Ed messed up with their school location period. now they have to fill the school, period. They don't care how they do it or that anyone is moved out of one community into another. They do not care. It's all about filling a school. Roswell shame on you! The new school was coming and EVERYONE knew they were gonna fill the new school given it's location with Milton and push Milton kids out bringing Roswell into MHS. had you joined in sooner when they were looking to build a new school in the first place and even asked for a new high school between Alpharetta and Roswell, we all wouldn't be in this community breaking, traffic screwing mess we are all in NOW! The time to have done anything was 4 years ago, not as the school is rising from the ground!

Tim, your blog, your marbles. However, when an individual wields her influence/browbeating/money with thte BOE to redraw zoning maps to her liking and dictate where my kids will go to school AND what my kids will learn in school to fit her political opinions, the public should know about it. Sunshine is the best disinfectant!

The bigger question is how do we fix this problem and prevent them from EVER doing this again to our community or any other? I thought the reason for becoming individual cities was to give more local control and jurisdiction? In reality no city is safe with the BOE riding rough shot down our roads making sure we all stay in line!

The government is supposed to serve the people not dictate to us! And that is exactly what the FCBOE does after placating us with possible hope they might be listening at these time wasting meetings. Yeah they listen then don't agree.

Money talks. On here, "there" and everywhere.

What I don't understand is why the city isn't being more proactive regarding traffic. To the points above: the school is where it is, it's too late to make any major changes -- should've been done years ago. HOWEVER, the city can improve some of the east/west streets -- Bethany Way to Bethany Bend is a particular nightmare and should be aligned or otherwise addressed.

The one, easiest thing that can be done now is to remember all of this at the next election. Reminding the BOE officials of that over the next few weeks may help somewhat. The only way to improve the ridiculous redistricting in the mean time is to shift all the school districts counter-clockwise, i.e - Roswell kids nearest RHS stay at RHS, and those kids down nearest Mansell Rd. will shift to the East, etc. What that would do is to most closely align the schools with the communities they are in. Yes, it "moves" more kids. That's an unfortunate result of the BOE's lack of foresight. The reality is that the BOE is too arrogant to admit their mistake and do what is necessary to fix it.

No one wields influence over the BOE, you just want to take this opportunity to continue your pissed of rant. If is the case then how come Ron Wallace got stuck with MHS in his backyard? He is a very wealthy and powerful man isn't he? Well known, well respected, very involved in his community, yet he was unable to halt or influence the BOE. Hmm.

She went to bat for Milton trying to have the dividing line drawn at Hopewell road east and west. If she was able to "
have it her way" then wouldnt that have happened? I heard her and others speak at city hall, did you? Did you go and speak to council publicly on this issue? Didnt see you there. Traffic is the issue, not which school. But you don't care what the truth is you just
want to slam someone you are mad at for shedding light on what you were doing at the school. Teachers teach science and ga curriculum. You are a volunteer PTA mom.

It's a shame people can't look in the mirror and see they are the cause of their own problems, but passing the blame on someone else is so much easier.

Lisa darling, it's not always Cathy Johnson or Rhonda Newell on here but "you" keep blaming them. Dont fret, mostt of the people on your side of town are learning the truth.

@11:20AM You are in violation of Tim's rule and may be censored.

Wrong identity, sorry to disappoint, just someone who knows the deal, darling. Prove your accusations. Simple. I am sure there is a money trail if you have the facts of the BOE being influenced by her money go ahead and expose it. We r waiting since you know it all and have it figured out. I am sure she would welcome the investigation, go for it. Betya a million there is nothing there!! Your an attorney right just can't practice in Georgia. Go spend your money on that, you are so chided it's humorous. Focus on the real issue, it ain't any person it's the BOE.

Anonymous said...

OMG
It has to be money that influenced the BOE otherwise if not than they just responded to legitimate concerns and common sense. That's a hard pill to swallow. You just ain't right on this one. They don't change policy for the reasons you are stating, they really just aren't that stupid and as bad as you want it to be true you give too much credit to the really zero influence of one person.

Tim, just don't allow comments, just like advertisements, if you are going to delate them anyway.

When one owns a blog, he should be fair in allowing comments. Even if he isn't going to be fair, at least give the appearance of being fair.

Anonymous said...

Fair is being able to libel people anonymously.

Anonymous said...

Some of the comments that were erased would not be considered libel but were deleted anyway. Very suspect. I would not be surprised if this comment is deleted, since it highlights that point.

Anonymous said...

The comments were facts. Some people don't like their behind-the-scenes dealings displayed in public.

Anonymous said...

Why do you want to believe so badly that something was going on behind the scenes? Because you just hate someone or Is it because you just don't want to face the reality the entire School Board wasn't agreeing with the ideals of a volunteer and the information was biased? The Neil Bortz article says it all.

Delete it. It's off topic, but I didn't start it, the comments previous started it again.

If you are sure there are behind the scenes goings on, than out them, it's obviously so important to you to prove this, you spent 10 or more comments before they were deleted, anonymously making accusations, do us a favor and just go ahead and follow the money trail by all means. Tell us what you find out.

I got money on that one.

Anonymous said...

It's libel when someone puts in writing damaging false information about a non public figure.

Go see the definition of Libel.

Please expose all of your " facts" and put your name to it. I am sure Tim would let you write an editorial with all of your factual information on the behind the scenes goings ons.

Well? How about publishing your findings in Appen or the AJC, go ahead.

Bash Cauley and post is deleted. Bash Rhonda and no deletion. Have seen this time and time again.

Now, is this fair or does it even give the appearence of being fair?

An open records request has been filed. Let's see what comes out.

Until then check the "final" district lines. Why would the Milton HS line suddenly shift from along Freemanville to just east of it ever so slightly just to get a few extra houses when Milton is closer to capacity than the new school? Must be a coincidence, right...

Lets see Rhonda was bashed or accused of what exactly? Nothing. People were guessing on previous blog comments that Rhonda was the blogger attacking Tim Enloe on this website. Don't remember ever seeing one blog comment falsely accusing Rhonda of doing one thing in this city other then being the author of possible blog comments attacking Enloe. Yeah, that's the same thing as the false accusations flying on this post which has nothing to do with Lisa anyway.

It's a post about a link to a Fulton County map.

Gee is this Rhonda again? Funny how some people just want to be in the lime light! See, here's another comment guessing who! Oooh, same thing! Delete it Tim, you are not being fair to Rhonda!

Open records will find you nothing. Could have saved some money, but hey, it's your money. Try the BOE bank deposits, maybe the smoking gun is there! Raised the bar on stupidity, you have.
