MILTON COUNTY VOTE NOW HOURS AWAY -- "TOO CLOSE TO CALL"

Courtesy Beacon Media

The House vote today on the re-creation of Milton County is on the agenda and should come to a floor vote sometime today. Pronounced "dead" by insiders just a few weeks ago, House Speaker Pro-Tem Jan Jones (R-Milton) and her legion of supporters for the resolution have worked feverishly to get the two thirds majority -- 119 votes -- they need for passage.

Pronounced "dead" by insiders just a few weeks ago, House Speaker Pro-Tem Jan Jones (R-Milton) and her legion of supporters for the resolution have worked feverishly to get the two thirds majority -- 119 votes -- they need for passage.

BEACON POLITICAL ODDS POSTED

Beacon Political Odds-Maker John Breech has just posted the odds for passage as 6-5 against, down from 2:1 against on Monday. "Support for the measure, led by Burkhalter who cut several overseas business trips short to rally the troops has dropped the odds in the last seven days," Breech explained.

PREDICTIONS

Gold Dome Beacon state house correspondent Maggie Lee laid the 6:5 odds against and bet the amendment will fail.

"Chatter off the House floor is bearish on Milton," Lee said. "Comments range from 'down in flames' to 'I remember when they were trying to do this thirty years ago'. On the one hand, Republican solidarity remains pretty tight. On the other hand, Democrats crossing the aisle will incur wrath from their (D) Fulton colleagues. Maybe we'll hear more at the buffet lunch House Speaker Pro-Tem Jan Jones (R-Milton) is sponsoring today."

Beacon managing editor John Fredericks bet "yes" and predicts it will carry today. "I'll bet on Jones, Burkhalter and the facts any day," Fredericks said. "The logic in this amendment overwhelming favors passage. But it's the North Fulton legislative team that will pull it through. You don't win a lot of money wagering against Jan Jones, Mark Burkhalter, Wendell Willard and Chuck Martin, and I'm not about to start now. It passes."

Fredericks prediction wrong. He is never right on anything.

He wasn't wrong about the "shrill moonbat" losing big in the last election! And he was right abouth Cookie Monster also.

That took a rocket scientist to figure out. Predicting the obvious is no real accomplishment.

Moonbat is a political term used to describe a Liberal or Socialist. The person you a referring to is as far from that description has humanly possible. Try again.

Cookie Monster is a correct term for the other.

I was refering to Julie Bailey and yes she is a liberal and socialist. She wants government to control everything that a private individual has or does. I know as I work closely with her everyday.

Can someone please confirm if the Bailey's are splitting up, or not? I think Mr. Bailey is really hot and I am trying to decide whether to extend his contract and/or add some pool service also!

I am "thin", at least in my own mind? Mark says I don't look "too" fat in my pants!
