'Change Your Clock Change Your Battery' Nov. 6.

On Sunday, Nov. 6 Energizer and the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) will again team up for the "Change Your Clock Change Your Battery®" campaign to remind families of a simple task that could make the difference in surviving a home fire.

Studies have shown that having a working smoke alarm doubles a family's chances of escaping a home fire. This program encourages families to take action by changing the batteries in smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors when they switch their clocks back an hour.

"Smoke detectors are an essential part of keeping our community safe," said Milton Fire Marshal Matt Marietta. "In the unfortunate event of a fire, smoke detectors in the home can let you know there is a problem before the fire is able to spread enough to threaten lives."
