MILTON, GA., Feb. 11, 2010 - Searching Milton's laws has never been easier thanks to a new service called Municode.

The service, available for free anytime through the city's Web site, www.cityofmiltonga.us, not only allows citizens to peruse the city's codified ordinances one by one, it also gives them the opportunity to search based on key words.

For instance, if a resident wanted to learn anything related to "noise," a simple search of the word brings up the chapter and article under which that topic is addressed. Further research - available with only a click - gives definitions of noise, maximum permissible sound levels, exemptions from the law, and more.

To access the system, simply go to www.cityofmiltonga.us. On the home page to the left, you will see a button for Municode.com. Once you click it, you will be taken to the Municode.com homepage for Milton. From there, you can search ordinances by chapter and section or simply enter a term into the "Search" field at the top right.

You may also access Municode.com by rolling your mouse over the "Departments" tab at the Web site, choosing "City Clerk" and clicking on "Ordinances." Municode.com is also available on any City Clerk page by rolling your mouse over the "Ordinances" side menu and clicking on "Search using Municode.com."
