Motorists in Milton are encouraged to use alternate routes starting Monday when the city starts a major reconstruction project on Morris Road.
The work is expected to last three weeks. The road will remain open, but will be restricted to one lane in each direction.
Public Works Director Carter Lucas said Morris Road will undergo a "full depth reclamation," which in layman's terms means crews will tear up the old road and lay down a new one.
Morris Road was the No. 1 priority in the pavement management plan the city council approved last year. CW Matthews Construction will carry out the $571,248 contract.
