Portion of proceeds goes to charity
MILTON, GA., April 6, 2010 - Do you have plans for dinner tonight? Why not eat out for a good cause with the Milton Fire Department?
The Milton Clydesdales, the team of firefighters participating in the Fight for Air Climb 2010, will have a fundraising event tonight, Tuesday, April 6 at the Chick-Fil-A on Windward Parkway from 5 to 8 p.m. A portion of the night's proceeds will go to their efforts.
The team's fellow firefighters will also be on hand giving blood pressure checks and showing off an engine, tools and other equipment.
The event is part of the fundraising effort for the Air Climb 2010 at One Ninety One Peachtree in Atlanta April 17, which features hundreds of families and corporate and fire station teams from across the state. There the Clydesdales will ascend the 50 floors - that's 1150 stairs - in full turnout gear.
It's all to raise money for the American Lung Association in its mission to foster lung disease awareness, research, advocacy and education.
This year, the team's goal is $1,500, and they're nearly there. The Clydesdales are currently in fourth place among fundraisers, and were the top team last year. To donate to the Milton Clydesdales, click here.
