River Tavern was created by the husband and wife team equally well over 20 years in the restaurant and food service industry. The name was conceived from their first and oldest son, River.
Though River Tavern is their first personally owned restaurant, it will not be their last.
River Tavern was a concept created to fill a need in the community. It provides comfortable surroundings for people to meet with friends, for couples to enjoy an intimate meal together and for the corporate person to conduct informal meetings with clients over great food and drinks.
Customers appreciate the value of their money being contributed for the taste of culinary excellence that is unsurpassed. We pride ourselves on an all farm fresh, made from scratch kitchen. We receive deliveries daily from local growers and producers and we do not freeze or pre cook any items. We change our menu every 45 days and keep our customers returning as we keep their interest in experiencing more culinary greatness.
Currently the menu carries a fried macaroni and cheese with homemade ketchup, a shortrib sandwich that is slow cooked for 16 hours and the shrimp and grits, which has become a menu staple. The dessert menu includes our famous fried smores.
The website contains our full menu list and includes a Monday thru Friday Lunch menu and a kids menu. We do offer catering on and off site and will deliver extremely large orders to local businesses.
River Tavern strives to become an integral part of the Milton community by participating in various charity opportunities and other local city events. We will be “the” premier restaurant of Milton by providing an atmosphere for dining and drinking that truly reflects our city and the people within it.
