Designers: Milton needs 2010 Roundup concept.

Want your ideas enjoyed by thousands?

MILTON, GA., May 18, 2010 - Have you ever wanted the community to see your creativity first-hand? Then help shape the City of Milton's largest yearly event, the 2010 Milton Roundup.

The City of Milton wants this year's event to be an accurate representation of what matters to its citizens. That means one of you decides what best encapsulates all that Milton means in 2010.

As such, all local designers, artists and art enthusiasts are encouraged to submit their ideas for a 2010 Milton Roundup logo and event concept. The winning design/theme will be featured in and guide all aspects of the event's signage, promotions, T-shirts, souvenirs and more.

The only rule is that the design and theme somehow incorporate the title "Milton Roundup 2010." That's it. Let your imaginations run wild.

All logos and design concepts must be turned into Cyndee Bonacci, Milton's Parks and Recreation Director, by June 18. The winning designer will be asked to sign a release stating the City of Milton may use the logo and concept for the 2010 Roundup.

If the logo is created using an electronic design program, all files must be in .eps format for usage on a variety of products and signage. If the design is hand-drawn or painted, it must be no larger than 42 inches in width to be scanned at City Hall. If scanning yourself, all files must be saved in .eps format.

For more information, contact Communications Manager Jason Wright at 678-242-2523 or jason.wright@cityofmiltonga.us.

This year's Fourth Annual Milton Roundup will take place Oct. 23 at Birmingham United Methodist Church from noon to 6 p.m. and feature food, games, rides and more. For more information about the event, contact Bonacci at 678-242-2489 or cyndee.bonacci@cityofmiltonga.us.

As a result of all the work our $85,000 per year Parks Director is performing, she deserves a salary increase.

Truly you are kidding. Linda did the same thing for 25,000 less...

Anonymous said...

Actually Linda made only $10,000 less and didn't do anything with parks at all.

Linda didn't do anything except gossip city business.

How about NO concept, do away with it, it stunk last year.

I was being facetious by suggesting more pay for Parks Director. The position should be eliminated.

As far as salary for Blow, $40,000 would have been a gracious plenty.

Well, you know the old saying, walk in another man's shoes for a day... I know Linda personally and she in no way made $75,000 per year, she worked countless hours over and above the 40 hr workweek including weekends and holidays. I never heard her bad mouth or gossip city business in the years she worked at Milton. She loved her job and Milton and cried when she left. Those who knew her well knew she was one of Milton's best cheerleaders.

She may have been a good cheerleader, but she did not know the difference between Webb Road & Webb Bridge Road.

We need workers, not cheerleaders.

She did make $75k a year. The city offered her a reasonable amount but she refused.

Linda is gone, move on.

The Roundup was a flop last year and if they don't have a good one this year, they might as well scrap it. Maybe they could get Milton Grows Green to do it, since Earth Day was so successful.

Who is this idiot who is sayig Linda made $75,000 annually? Who are you and where do you get your info/gossip? Ask Chris and he will tell you not so. AND, the City never offered her a thing, end of story.
As for the idiot who keeps saying last year was a flop - please come forward and host an event in the wind and the rain and temperatures waivering in the low 40s. I was there with them for the duration and it was one sh__y day!
Linda is gone and that's how the City wanted it. Lets get back to the Parks Director at 85,000 per year - that's how this started. Next thing one of you bloggers will blame this on Karen Thurman and her finances....

If you don't want to show up and help with these events, then keep your comments to yourself.

It's certainly easy to complain when you have nothing to do with something.

And while you're at it, ask your council why there isn't going to be a 4th of July celebration this year.

Alpharetta is having their fireworks that day, a Sunday, but Milton isn't doing anything at all.

I swear Travis, you fit the profile of an Obama team member, telling us what we can say and can't say and can do and can't do.

Okay, whatever that means. I sure as $hi+ didn't vote for him.

Just think it must be nice to sit back and jeer from the bleachers.

Quite a few people put in their volunteer time each year to work on the Roundup, and seldom are any of them given credit.

Criticize the weather if you will, but know that some on the committee wanted to keep the event in September, on a day that it ended up raining 3 inches, so go figure.

Can't seem to please anyone, it's either too hot, too wet, Bulldawgs are on TV, or somebody wants to fly their airplane overhead.

Whoever keeps challenging what Linda made you need to get your fact straight. CH2Mhill paid het $75k a year and since she was supporting her daughter she could not take a pay cut.

I know because I signed her pay check!

Travis, didn't accuse you of voting for him, just acting like him.

I am having trouble leaving a message on this blog so I will sign annonymous but be assured, I am Linda Blow. My email, for those who may have further questions is lindablow47@yahoo.com. Whoever the person is who claims to have signed my paycheck, he is lying. I never made $75,000 per year in my whole life. I was hired as an Executive Assistant and then assumed the role of events planner. I was a CH2mHill employee and my direct boss was Tom Wilson. I loved the City of Milton and all the citizens I worked with. It was thebest job I ever had. The Mayor and Council decided they wanted to follow a different path and I was let go like an old mismatched shoe. Please do not tell stories that aren't true on this or any other blog. I would certainly not do the same to anyone Thank you.

In honor of Linda Blow, why not boycott the infamous Roundup. Better yet, why not boycott everything Milton, until they hire her at a reasonable salary, say $60,000 per year.
