The victim was treated and released overnight. Detectives in Milton said they are working to find out why the robbers came after him.

Police said a 20-year-old Hispanic male and his mother were inside the home when two men broke in with guns drawn.

“Both victims were at home asleep when the home invasion occurred,” said Capt. Shawn McCarty of the Milton Police Department.

McCarty said the victim’s wound was minor and he will be OK.

Detectives are searching for answers as to why the robbers may have targeted the home. Police spoke with both victims.

“Right now, we really don’t know the motive. Indications would lead us to believe it was a robbery,” said McCarty.

Police did not say if the men took money or what they were after.

The victim told police the men drove away in a white Honda Accord heading toward Cherokee County.
