With the school year about to start up, one has to wonder where it will be. Will it be on Bethany (again), will it be on Freemanville or maybe it's Birmingham Road's turn? Anybody's guess really.

I would like to tell you the odds are much less this year due to all the hard work and planning that our city council has done. I would like to tell you without a doubt that your loved ones are much safer traveling through our open road neighborhoods now than before. I would like to tell you that our wonderful Milton Police department has received an outpouring of incredible support for the lives they save every day by enforcing the law...even while being overworked and understaffed. I would like to tell you all of this, but I can't because nothing has been done.

A preventable death is coming this year. It will be in one of our open road neighborhoods. Speed will be the primary factor.

One has to wonder when that time comes, what the excuses will be then. I guess that is ok. After all, excuses are a dime a dozen. Too bad lives aren't as well.

Here is hoping I am wrong. God, I hope I am wrong.

Speed was the issue. Police cannot stop the ignorant drivers from speeding. When they get into their cars THEY are responsible for what happens. If there were police on every street every morning, as soon as they bypass them then they would speed again. If the speed limit was 35 like Alpharetta, they would still speed. SPEED KILLS- NOT THE MILTON POLICE AND CITY COUNCIL AND/MAYOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everyone feels your pain from your brothers death Tim. But he was speeding on a wet morning. He was solely responsible. He knew the streets around here. No one else can be blamed for this.

Do you or do you not support the City Of Milton Police. It seems as though you are slamming them on your site.

Tim Enloe said...

Nope. Not slamming at all. Truth be known, I would have LOVED for the officer on duty to have pulled him over and locked him up. I full support our wonderful Milton Officers.

Point being is the more they are seen, the more people are aware of their speed and keep it within the limit.

I agree with you; my brother was going too fast for conditions. I will never state to you or anyone else that he wasn't.

Point being re the Council is they have sat on their hands even though they know speeding is a constant danger in Milton. Still nothing even after that father and son were killed going in an excess of 90 mph.

My goal through my brother's death is to insure that no other families go through such hell. The sorrow is never ending.

what exactly do you want council to do because your solutions wont do anything to solve any of the problems stop wasting your time

Anonymous said...

Unbelievable!! Tim Enloe has supported the Milton Police more than anyone else in this city - all voluntarily and through hard work. Just ask some of the officers.

brown nosing is not support

Tim Enloe said...

Interesting. So I guess my support of our firemen and armed services is brown nosing as well.

So be it.

have you flown to the middle east to feed them no so it isnt brown nosing but to bash and over praise the job and effect that local police have is pointless

Tim Enloe said...

You speak out of ignorance. You have no idea what I am planning to do regarding the armed services locally. You will soon, though, so i guess the secret is out. One has to wonder if you will work with us and "brownnose" I mean support the troops from our area. Then again, you might just sit back in your chair, play second string quarterback and do nothing.

Time will tell.

support them so you can complain about them later no thanks hypocrite

Anonymous said...

now its something you are planning to do yet you spoke as if youve already been parading around in your prior comment which is it

Tim Enloe said...

Yes. I have been working on creating a support base for troops who are serving whose families live or work in Milton. All you have to do is ask some of the folks at City Hall. You can even ask Chris Lagerbloom as I contacted him on it about two weeks or so ago.

City Hall's number is 678 242 2500.

No hypocrit here; just one step ahead of you.

youre still creepy and while i may hide my opinions behind a computer at least it isnt public knowledge that im a whiny menace that city hall would love to be rid of

Anonymous said...

I would like to be rid of the council, mayor, and the shi11y city of Milton.

The presence of the Police does help., but as the people come upon our police sitting on our street to try to slow down traffic., the other people are flashing their lights to warn of the police sitting there. This is the only thing that slows them down until they are out of site again. There is no way any city could find or hire enough police officers to slow our commuters down. NO ONE CAN MAKE YOU SLOW DOWN IF YOU THINK YOU CAN OUT BEAT THE LAW! And then those that do get a speeding ticket have the nerve to go to the city and ask for back ground checks on our officers. People who speed think they are above the law or they just think they can speed until they get caught. I don't think there is anything you can do that will help the situation with the people that speed and live in this society today.

Anonymous said...

Do some digging! If the police try to enforce the speed, the people that get tickets usually go directly to the city manager and EXPECT the ticket to go away and complaint on the officer on how intimidating they were. The next thing you see is less enforcement due to concerns of keeping their jobs.

Too many nasty people live in the city of Milton. Topping the list is the "snake in the grass".

Anonymous said...

5:24 - Are you sayin that there is corruption at city hall with individuals getting special treatment?

Anonymous said...

I want you to know, I represent that comment.

The city of Milton, including council could do something more than what has been done - nothing. There should be support for our police officers patrolling our roads and issuing tickets when necessary. Police presence works, more police presence works even better. Motorists having to pay speeding/violation fines will change their attitudes eventually.

Anonymous said...

Why don't you go over to city hall and ask about the people who complain about their tickets. I don't think they get any special consideration. They want off. They think they are above the law. They think they are better than you and me. Society has raised spoiled little rich kids and adults. Our police do what we ask them to do like sitting on our streets. We don't thank them when they are out there, but complain about them when they are doing their job and give someone a ticket. Where does this insanity come from. Mommy and Daddy getting little Johnny or Susie out of trouble? Yes. Let them pay and be responsible for their wrongs and once it ends up hitting the purse too many times maybe they will decide to obey all laws! If not let them pay the consequences!

Anonymous said...

Mommy and Daddy are guilty too. The difference is they make a call before ticket is issued.

Our little darlings can do no wrong and don't you forget it. They will grow up to me the next generation of conceited and obnoxious residents of Milton.

This is just sad. The point of this post is to call attention to the issue of safe driving. The video - if you watched it - depicts several problems facing our driver population. Most of this involved just paying attention to what you are doing behind the wheel. I appreciate Tim’s efforts to bring this to our attention. We should make our children watch this video every day.
This has nothing to do with how many police are out patrolling the roads. This has nothing to do with supporting the troops. This has to do with driver education.
As for corruption at city hall - jeeze! You have to be kidding me! I challenge anyone to find evidence of special treatment from our elected officials. Just spend 1 day in court when these issues are being heard. The only treatment being doled out is that of our city judges – and they show no favoritism to anyone.
Making bold and unsubstantiated claims is just plain ignorant.

Hey man, using terms "dude" and "creepy". Are you in any way related to the snake in the grass?
Probably so as the only posts by you are negative. We can live without your hatefulness. Access Milton is outstanding without you and yours.

Pot calling the kettle black?

Anonymous said...

Just as I thought. Ninety-five percent of the negative comments come from one person and others who live in same household.
Why don't you do something positive for a change and give the rest of us peace. We enjoy and learn from accessmilton and have no need for you.

Tim: I hope your efforts to benefit the military will begin with public sanctions of Karen Thurman's loan company. It has taken advantage of soldiers for far too long -- targeting them, charging them too much for computers and then continuing to charge them long after the term of the loans.
