New Poll Up.

A new poll is up regarding noise generated from schools and churches. Do you believe such entities should answer to the same noise ordinance as private residences? Vote up the upper right corner of this news blog today!

No I think they should be exempt and folks should enjoy the noise. Remember a baby's scream is music to the parents ears< and others should just enjoy it or get a life.

Anonymous said...

So, I guess everyone has to like the music you like, eh?

Anonymous said...

I have never heard a babys scream that was music to my ears nor to other parents that I know.
Remember people have the right to quiet enjoyment of their home.

Which came first, the egg or the chicken?

It would be nice if churches and schools were as quiet as personal homes, but come on people, just based on the number of people in the church and school communities, that is impossible so why even bring it up. Why don't we throw in the excessive sounds from traffic also.

Since churches and schools are being built next to personal homes then yes churches and schools should respect their neighbors. I am in favor of them abiding by the same ordinance.
Granted you may have noise from traffic and that you can not get away from. On the flip side however there is a great portion of noise generated from these facilities that are heard at unnecessary volumes. Noise that can be controlled at respectable levels.

You old timers should just shut up or get out. As more and more new folks move in, then you people who grew up here should change or sell your place and move out. We need more fancy neighborhoods and less farms. They smell.

I think the fellow is right. I am goin' to sell my 60 acres too Walmart. Then, you will need affordable housing (lord knows these impressive wannabees kids won't work there)to staff the joint. Then since Wally world doesn't pay anything, those low income employees will start selling drugs...to your wannabee kids. After the overdose and funeral, this fellow who wanted the old timers gone will scream "why lord? why?"
Little did he realize he already knew the answer - that being that he was the ends to the menes.

Grew up here? I did not think there was anyone left that "grew up here"?

Anonymous said...

At last count there was fourteen of us "who grew up here" still here. However, I have not checked obits today.

Blog zone, R.N. back, you are. Transparent, you are not.

Bose makes great sound cancelling headphones. Just have them permanently attached to your head if you live near MHS.

Whoever wants the old people to shut up and move out of hear should be shot. You are going to be old too, unless you die young. Whoever you are you are bitter and mean natured to make those comments towards the elderly that live in Milton. Why don't you move out of here and go where its congested and polluted since that seems to be what you want for Milton.

Anonymous said...

It seems the first blogger should move out of the country. The "my way or the highway" attitude is not what the community needs.
Perhaps a dictatorship would suit you better.
Would hate to see how you run your household -- poo poo on you!

Anonymous said...

Hey guys just because I just moved here dosent mean I should not try to control and change things. There is no way that a new school should be allowed to be built accross from my new house, and my husband Frank agrees.

So dont tell me to leave!

Happy trails to you and Frank.

Do I sense a tad bit of jealousy in the last few posts? It's time to grow up. I wish YOU would move out! You're gross! And you are just trying to stir up s--t! Get a life -- somewhere else.

Anonymous said...

Gross? That was funny. How can you tell someone is gross in a blog?

Anonymous said...

Language and ugliness. Let's end this now.

Anonymous said...

How cute to blog as if you are someone else.

Anonymous said...

This is creating very negative vibes. You're ruining my day!

Anonymous said...

whoa! i am confused.
although "which came first the egg or the chicken?" comment is pretty darn funny.

Dear Access Milton and Blogger Impersonater:
A friend just notified me someone on this post was blogging as if the comments were mine.

I have not made any comments on this post. If I choose to make any comments on this website or this post, I will put my name to it.

The Host of Access Milton knows every blogger's IP address and identity , including yours. No one is incognito.

Tim - I know YOU know who everyone is that makes a comment on your website, however, I suggest considering removing the "anonymous" blogging option so conversation on your site will be productive, and people will be responsibile for their comments.

Regards, L. Cauley

I prefer a baby's laughter to my ears, not a baby's scream. Laughter and giggles yes, screaming no!

Anonymous said...

Does that have anything to really do with the poll question? What noise do churches generate? singing in the choir? prayer? depends on if it's Jerimia Wright's Church! Said it! Hah! schools produce much more noise then churches. Milton is going to get them in stereo (is that still a word "stereo"?) Oh, no, meant "surround sound"! Hah!

Lisa:

We can respect your frustration regarding the comments that suggested that you were the author. We do want end users to know that while we have activated this blog on behalf of Accessmilton.com, the actual host is www.blogger.com. They will have the IP addresses - Magnolia Media does not.

With that said, we do not know who comments on this news blog.

We have considered requiring registration. Even with that approach, however, it can be easily manipulated.

Thanks to all those who enjoy Accessmilton.com!

How do I know YOU even wrote the last comment from AM? It may have been someone else. See.

No more comments from me, promise! Next time email me Tim instead of on here.
Thanks.

Ms Cauley, may I suggest you not read this site if it upsets you and tell your friends not to read it. If those friends continue to read it, tell them not to tell you anything they read here. This falls under the category of "what you don't know won't hurt you."

Remember....It's the way you ride the trail that counts.... If your husband is Frank, same applies to him.

Seems as if someone wants hits here. Get rid of this post. It's not cool at all and has nothing to do with a noise ordinance, does it?

Since this ridiculous poll about noise has turned into an attack on another community member by a fake post in order to damage her credibility - besides her determination to help the community - and her family's and our future in Milton.

There was once a comment about someone named Rhonda Newell (who I don't know either). Didn't she rescue a dog and then nasty comments appeared on the AM story about her?

Access Milton, get a grip. I'm not interested in the BS anymore. It turning too nasty and nothing good will come out of any of this nonsense.

It started with election time and now it continues with community advocates. Where the hell are the ones who have a different opinion. Why don't you show up at City Hall and do something PRODUCTIVE already.

Adios Access. Say la Vee.
