MILTON - City and company officials cut the ribbon to open the new "Healthcare Solutions Center" for Philips Electronics' healthcare division in Milton, making their 500 person call center one of the largest employers in the city. The center will service the Americas.

"We're very proud of the work we do here. In fact, a lot of the folks you see back there, are often on the phone looking over the shoulder of clinical people who actually have patients on the table, " said Tom Kirkland, Philips Senior Vice President of Customer Service, North America. "This is not a call center, this is a solution center."

"We are proud to have you in the city...you are part of our family now and part of the Milton community, " said Milton Council member Alan Tart, with North Fulton Chamber of Commerce CEO, Brandon Beach, adding, "We appreciate your investment in the community and investment in the chamber and we're out there fighting to make sure you have the proper employees to run your business."

As a part of the ribbon cutting ceremony, Philips donated several defibrilators to the Milton fire department.

Philips Healthcare offers diagnostic imaging systems, healthcare information technology, and patient monitoring systems.
