Dear Milton Neighbor,
There is much work to be done in the City of Milton. You can rest assured that your City Council is working diligently for you.
As the CPAC, city staff and council finalize our Comprehensive 25 Year Plan and develop the Transportation Plan for our city, I am mindful of the need to continue our "inclusive community" focus. We must never forget even one of our citizens in the planning process. Accessibility throughout the community is very important to me and I am proud to work closely with the Milton Disability Awareness Committee to continue developing a plan for all citizens. The next MDAC meeting is Wednesday, September 2, 2009, at 7:00 at City Hall. Join us and learn more about our inclusive community!
Moving into the fall season, there are a number of events where Milton can show it's inclusive community spirit.
The 3rd Annual Milton Roundup, which I was instrumental in founding in 2007, will be held Saturday, October 17, 2009, from Noon to 6:00 PM. I look forward to seeing you there.
The Roundup features admission, rides, popcorn and cotton candy, t-shirts to the first 1,500 attendees, GACHIP Child ID program, a chance to win a helicopter ride over Milton, entertainment by Milton High School and a Public Safety band, tastings of the chili cook-off competition, face painting and a car show plus the Mayor's Challenge 5k and 10k run. Lots more that is still being planned. Free to the public!
Free CPR Community Class
The City of Milton will host a CPR class 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at Milton High School. This free hour-long class is open to anyone who wishes to learn these life saving skills: CPR (adult and child,) First Aid, use of AED's and how to rescue a choking victim.
Important Survey Coming, please be on the watch for your City of Milton Citizen Survey. We want your thoughts! This City-sponsored survey is delivered without survey bias and will be statistically valid. It is intended to represent a real and accurate picture of Milton residents' level of satisfaction, wants, and expectations of their government. Please return your completed questionnaire so your thoughts can be included in the aggregate report.
The Milton Public Library is coming! Please watch for news on the sites being considered. The Fulton County Library board wants public involvement in this important decision.
Several important meetings are planned in September. I have listed the meetings below and additional information is available at www.cityofmiltonga.us. Please visit the City of Milton web site for updates as these meetings are subject to change.
I am but a phone call away, If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact me by telephone or email tdaversa@bellsouth.net or tina.daversa@thecityofmiltonga.us.
I hope you have a safe and relaxing Memorial Day!

I'll be having a safe and relaxing LABOR DAY!
nice that she felt the need to throw in that she was instrumental in founding the milton roundup, how modest of her
She has been hanging around with Julie too much!
Maybe she had a nightmare that someone was going to run in her District and had to get another fluff piece out. What tripe.
(The email, not her)
Will not vote for any candidate who refers to Bethany Bend as Bethany Bend Rd.
Her nightmare has come true - she's got competition now!
Like to see one of you bloggers have the fortitude to run for any office, especially after you put your names to your comments. What will you with your time if you can't blog here anymore behind the green curtain. Seems like the only thing you are interested in is tearing down others from behind the green curtain. Toto pull back the curtain.
Not so brave to criticize when you have to put your identity behind it huh?
An anonymous blogger criticizing other anonymous bloggers who criticize? Be the first to pull back the curtain, ye brave one.
You go first. If I post my name, based on your comments, and the character behind your comments, you would either make one up or not post your name. So go first then I'll follow. I triple dog dare ya.
You said "Not so brave to criticize when you have to put your identity behind it huh?"
Then you did not put your name on that post and you were called out. You then craw fished and made a dare.
Don't you think it is time to put up your name or shut up?
End the madness...Vote for Joe Longoria!
