Experience and Innovation We Need.

Courtesy Large4milton, Inc.

Dear Friends,

We are at a critical juncture in this campaign. Both sides are sharpening their swords and the distinctions are becoming clearer. My opponent, Mr. Tart, is taking the position that everything is fine and asking us voters to not change horses in mid-stream. His principal argument is that experience should win out. I agree. I believe that experience, the right experience, is what we need, especially now!

My opponent, Mr. Tart, is a government regulator for the FDA. To be fair, during his four years on Council we've seen some positive things happen. I am running because of what we have NOT seen. We have NOT seen innovative approaches to solving our significant traffic issues. We have NOT seen Crooked Creek gated. We have NOT seen Crabapple sufficiently supported by my opponent. We have NOT seen an ability to fully fund our road improvements each year. We have NOT seen a program for constructing sidewalks, bike paths, or parks. The tragedy lies in the fact that my opponent and I live in the most densely populated part of Milton, yet he has done very little to help this part of our city. What we have seen is one roadblock after another. I believe we deserve better.

I am a Vice President of an award-winning design firm, a former small business owner, engineer and Conservative. My experience includes the creation of exemplary parks and other community facilities throughout the Southeastern region. I have worked with dozens of cities and counties across the region. I am running on a simple, three point platform: 1) attract high tech business to Milton’s existing commercial zones and support our business sector, such that their success can shoulder more of our tax burden, 2) strengthen our sense of community and 3) protect our rural community feel. In short, I am running on a platform of Heritage and High Tech. With the right kind of plan we can manage traffic more effectively.

I am a father and soon-to-be grandfather. I want to grow the legacy of Milton as a lifetime community of excellence, so that my grandchildren will one day choose to make Milton home just as I did.

With nearly 30 years of experience in design and working with cities and communities, I have seen the best and worst practices and I know that the key to success in any municipal design is community support.

Yes, we need experience on our Council. The question is, what sort of experience? Do we need a government regulator or a creative innovator? Do we want more studies or someone who has implemented best practices?

I am Lance Large and I ask for your vote and your support.

Remember to VOTE LARGE for MILTON!

Lance Large

LOVE the editorial comment in the third paragraph! LOL!

BARF! I can't believe that he pandered to Crooked Creek that way. Obviously they were angry in the last election, but they don't want to see this city go down the drain. The residents of Crooked Creek are a huge part of Milton. They want to see the character of the city maintained as much as any other group in Milton (perhaps I should say "city" there, because I used "Milton" in the previous sentence).

A hanf-fisted attempt to appeal to every voting block. Getting desperate.

Really low blow to try to minimize the work Alan does for FDA as a way to distract from your own lack of experience. I am grateful to Alan for working hard to keep my family safe from foodborne illness. By the way, if you took time out of your ambition to pave over or build reserviors around our city LL you could read alans job title and description. He is a trainer who trains regulators and industry on how to prevent foodborne illness. I don't think there is anything that would put a restaurant out of business faster than causing people to get sick. From my perspective, Alan helps industry succeed and he definitely protects us all. Maybe you need to befriend him on Linked In and see the 50+ recommendations he has received from industry professionals describing him as an innovator, consensus builder, exceptionally gifted and intelligent individual. You didn't do your homework before the forum and made a complete idiot of yourself, and you continue to amaze us with your stupidity. Are you paying your Tallahassee consultant for this crap?

If Zahner Bailey and Tart are alienated from the other 5 and don't have the skills to build consensus, then they are marginalized and won't be effective.

How is Large going to strengthen our sense of community? How does one accomplish that in this city when it's always the development vs. limited development side. Looks like he chose the "pro development" side given his list of financial supporters. None of them are interested in "strengthening" the "sense" of community. That line is such a bs political feel good line it's not funny. Do you think the voters in N.Fulton are that stupid. We are sick of the national politics and the local politics is even worse.

Is it just me, or does anyone else not get this "Heritage and High Tech" crap he keeps talking about? He talks about it as if he is knocking it out of the park everytime he says it. Kind of like someone who tells a joke but only he laughs. So the next request would be for him to explain it. Sad thing is he has already tried. Is it computer factories, car assembly lines, what? None of that seems to fit with what Milton's citizens want.

Isn't this dude a neighbor to "The Trencher", which may explain some of his rhetoric ?

I don't know, but he was the only (that is right, ONLY) citizen of Milton that spoke out in favor of the new gas station at Hwy 9 and Bethany Bend. It passed.

Then, the development outfit for the gas station was one of the first to contribute to LL's campaign (public record). I guess they want more.

This guy is a cartoon character - Foghorn Leghorn.

Since we're making pop culture references, Tart is Plankton from Spongebob Squarepants.

What do you get when you cross a hillbilly and hi-tech????

Milton

Implemented what best practices exactly? I'd rather have someone suggest a study to determine need, than someone determine on their own accord what is best for our community, is that what Large means by implemented best practices? Another ridiculous sentence that means nothing. Who is writing this stuff for this guy, they need to fire their writer for peats sake! It's embarassing for his campaign.

Let's look at the comment before last, "alienated from the other 5". Now why would they be alienated from the other 5? Oh because they don't have developers and Adam Orkin and Ron Wallace in their pockets or donor list. They are alienated by the other 5 exactly, that is why Karen Thurman and Bill Lusk, and Rick Mohrig (prev. Council member and O'Brien, and Roger Santi are all supporting the new guys). Funny how Joe Lockwood supported Alan Tart and Julie Bailey, and now once again our Mayor has flipflopped as he does so well. Play it down the Middle Joe, not coming out and supporting anyone this time, that is at least publically?

Oh MILTON please wake up and go to the polls and send this group of 5 including our Mayor a clear message that we stand behind Bailey and Tart and are sick of kindergarten politics in this town! Bailey and Tarts records stand.

It's the campaigning of others currently on council and seeking out other wouldbe council person's to fall into the political web of lies and deciet in this town that is so unappealing. How many times was an ethics violation made to win an election? By whom? It's this trivial nasty politics that we as residents of Milton need to tell the 5 on our city council we are tired of your crap and your day is numbered. We don't want to lose our rural identity, so stop saying you agree then get on council and vote the opposite way just as Thurman and Lusk have been doing since day one. Go back and check their votes on sewer extension, density changes, and how many times did Karen Thurman have that guy come and present the Crabapple plan at city hall before it was even put out to bid or agreed that was even where city hall would end up. Talk about someone drooling at the mouth over Crabapple. Why is that? Daddy? Weiland? Wallace? Orkin?

EASY Read

I am against anything that Neil O'Brien is favoring. He is a scumbag, dishonest and a drunk.
Seems as though a few others at city hall have these attributes and will be exposed.

Look in the mirror, last commentator. Throwing stones at all others on council is barbaric at best. Why don't you be more specific?

LOL. "fred something or another hope their not paying him too much what a moron"

Try learning the difference between "their," "there" and "they're" Just putting it out there.
