Second Annual Road To Safety Program Kicks Off.

The 2011 Road To Safety Program, supported by the Fulton County Board of Education, kicks off this year’s program inviting seven North Fulton County High Schools to participate in the second annual Road To Safety Video Competition.

The schools invited this year to participate are: Alpharetta, Milton, Centennial, Chattahoochee, Roswell, Johns Creek, and North View. Students (of driving age) from participating schools will create and submit a 2 minute video addressing the many dangerous situations and distractions teens are faced with as new and inexperienced drivers.

The Individual or Group Winner will receive bragging rights for their school, photo op in the newspaper, a full day's defensive driving course and other various prizes from local businesses in our communities.

Last year’s winner from Alpharetta High School was honored by the Mayors of Alpharetta and Milton, and their City Councils at City Hall and was also featured in the Milton Herald. This year the winning video and 2nd and 3rd place winning videos will be highlighted on Access Milton over the course of several weeks. In addition the winning video will be showcased at various events at participating High Schools. Deadline to submit entry is December 19, 2011. This year’s winner will be announced in January after the Holiday Break.

For more information on this contest please contact your high school, email Access Milton (tmenloe@aol.com) or email RoadToSafety@att.net. Registration forms, rules and guidelines, and release forms will be available through your schools next week.
Videos must be submitted to your school or Access Milton by the deadline!
Please email Director at RoadToSafety@att.net for instructions to submit video to AccessMilton directly.

The Road to Safety Program is offering the winning students opportunities for driving courses at the Richard Petty Driving School and also our newest supporter DriveSmartGeorgia.
Good Luck to all the students and the schools! Have Fun! Safe Driving!

Misson: The purpose of this program is to educate, inform, and increase the awareness of the distractions and dangers teenagers face as new and inexperienced drivers with the ultimate goal of saving lives.
