MILTON, Ga., Oct. 19, 2011 - At a special ceremony Oct. 6, Quantum Bank donated $500 to the City of Milton's Tree Fund in celebration of five years in the city.
The money will be used to purchase and maintain trees in public areas, said Mark Law, Milton's arborist.
"We really appreciate the bank's generosity," said Milton Mayor Joe Lockwood, who accepted the check with Law at the ceremony. "This gift will go to good use as the city redoubles efforts to sustain this area's natural beauty."
Lauri Young, Quantum's vice president and director of marketing, said as the bank was planning its fifth birthday celebration, talks began about how to best thank the residents and business owners of Milton that have made Quantum's Bethany Bend location a success.
"The traditional gift for a fifth anniversary is wood," she said. "And since we knew environmentalism has been a hallmark of the City of Milton, everything just fell into place."
