Milton seeks new park director.

By Patrick Fox
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Cyndee Bonacci, Milton's first parks and recreation director, is stepping down, and the city is looking for a replacement.

Over the past year, the department has expanded its park space beyond the 15-acre Bell Memorial Park. In March, city officials bought 1 acre at Webb Road and Deerfield Parkway to create a pocket park. More recently, the city signed an agreement with Fulton County Schools to use a 2-acre plot near Northwestern Middle School as a community park. The city has also contracted with a private firm to organize and operate summer youth sports leagues.

We should hire someone from Milton that has a feel for what this city is about. We don't need another transplant that has no idea how to make Milton's Park and Recreation unique to this city. There is so much that can be done here. Can you believe Milton has never hosted any type of horse event? Isn't there someone that is from Milton that can bring the experience of living here to the job?

Dear Anonymous Number One,
Please feel sincerely invited to the Crabapple Fourth of July Walking Parade. We will be gathering at 9:00 a.m. at the Braeburn commercial entrance off Birmingham Highway. Please park at the Crabapple Baptist Church across the street from Crabapple Crossing Elementary. The parade will start at 9:30 and feel free to decorate yourself, your bike, your wagon, your dog, your stroller or your wheelchair. We will be giving out four prizes for most patriotic. We have free t-shirts, water and freezer pops while supplies last. And most importantly, the city didn't have to spend a dime on this parade, it is being sponsored by the Crabapple Community Association. We hope to see you there!

Amanda, thanks this sounds awesome! Still too bad that the city didn't find it necessary to celebrate for the second straight year.

can we just stop playing SIM city and just join Alpharetta already.

This is another example of government overspending our tax dollars. Whay on earth do we need to pay a park's director $100+ benefits to oversee Bell Memorial Park. Just rediculous waistful government spending.

We don't want you clowns in Alpharetta.

Tim, why don't you apply?

Tim is the answer! He has lived here for a very long time and knows the city better than anybody, even our elected officials. He loves the city. He would be perfect for this job! How can we get him hired? Start a petition!!!!!!!!!!!

We would love to have Tim in that position and I will give him a letter of recommendation!

Tim is the one for this job. Let's hope city hall will listen to citizens on this position. He is always working on behalf of Milton. He has the foresight, he has the knowledge of the area and the desire to create a city that we can be proud of and love.

I agree, we want Tim as the new parks director.

Tim should be the new parks director. He has given so much to this city and would do so much more if given the opportunity. His love and respect for citizens and area is number one.
Give him a chance to do outstanding work on our behalf. Perhaps if we called city hall and requested his appointment the decision would be in his favor.

Tim should definitely be our new parks director. Chris, please listen to the citizens of this city.

I wonder if Tim would consider this parks director position for less salary than previously paid? Knowing his devotion to Milton, just think he would accept.
