Road conditions in the City of Milton

MILTON, GA., Jan. 8, 2010 - Due to changing weather conditions and city work crews addressing problem areas, the City of Milton announces these road closures and situations:
CLOSED
** New Providence Road from Dorris Road to Atlanta National Golf Club
** Cogburn Road from Bethany Road to Francis Road
** All of Redd Road
POOR DRIVING CONDITIONS
** Bethany Bend Road at Cogburn Road
** Providence Road at New Providence Road
** Hopewell Road at Brookshade Parkway
** Multiple stretches of Birmingham Highway (Ga. 372) and Birmingham Road
ACCIDENT
** Hickory Flat Road: An overturned vehicle with entrapment.
Matt Marietta, Milton's emergency management coordinator, advises the city's roads crews are treating roads to make them safe for driving. Marietta said city crews are working with the Georgia Department of Transportation to create safe driving conditions on Birmingham Highway (Ga. 372) .
Because of Milton's network of two-lane, tree-lined streets, much of the city is too dangerous for driving. Many of those roads are icy and will not thaw because of lack of direct sunlight. Citizens are advised to avoid these roads completely.
Again, the City of Milton urges motorists stay indoors and not use the city's icy roads.
City Hall is closed except for essential staff. Court is cancelled for the day.
The City of Milton is committed to maintaining the unique quality of life for its constituents while efficiently delivering essential services to residents and businesses in an interactive community environment. For more information, visit www.cityofmiltonga.us, or call 678-242-2500.

Hey jackass, if you're going to correct him, then at least catch all the mistakes...it's Cogburn Road from Bethany Bend to Francis Road, not Bethany Road.

Whoopee, Travis has a cell phone that works and calls people names. Big boy to be in such small britches.

He also knows where to find money and thinks Linda Blow hung the moon.
