Regarding The Ethics Charge Against Tina D'Aversa

All:

We are receiving requests to check on the status of the ethics complaint filed against Tina D'Aversa by Neal O'brien in the Fall of 2009.

Various statements of supposed fact have been left in our comments section. In order to figure out where things truly stand, we have contacted City Manager Chris Lagerbloom in the hopes of shedding some light on the topic.

Once we have that information in hand, we will post it here on Accessmilton.com.

Thank you,

All, if you support Neal O'Brien please consider donating $ for his penalty fund because he will have to pay for some pretty hefty legal fees. Plus he still owes a bunch of money on his home equity loan from his last failed attempt at getting re-elected.

Check the state records and I believe you will see that they have been dropped. Sorry Neil!

Thankfully she is gone and we don't have to worry about her either way.

So is he! Or is he???

Thanks Tim. Just want the facts.

If voters are not happy with a candidate, vote the person out but to rip someone apart and attack the person with possible lies and deception is just plain wrong.

If Tina was unethical and/or a less affective councilmember then it was right to vote her out. If she wasn't and O'Brien lied to get her out, then didn't follow through with accusations, then he needs to pay for his actions.

He disappeared from the community completely as soon as he was not re-elected, not a word, not a peep out of O'Brien. No involvment in anything at all in regard to our community since he was removed from his seat by the voters. Until, one day.....someone needed someone to file ethics charges against a good person who cares about her community and the people in it.Hmmm, who could they get to do it...Oh, Neil will do it! He's a pro at it. Two of those someone's are still sitting on Council. Nasty, low down, good ole boy politics. Again, he never came out of his cave and made one statement about anything, never showed up at City Hall for any reason, or stood up for anything or had concern for one thing at all in this community once he wasn't on city council, UNTIL OTHERS RUNNING FOR OFFICE needed a scapegoat to file ethics charges. Way to come out Neil! The voters were so right in removing you from office, your lack of involvement in our community since you were unseated is apparent, zero! Milton residents are not stupid.

Dont worry, Neal has been involved, but just not visible. He has been underground where he works best.

Instead of bashing Neal, why not get back on point?

Neal was at City Hall for the 4th of July parade and is raising 2 young kids, not the easiest thing to do at his age.

Who cares that he was the one to file an ethics complaint? It just shows how cowardly everyone else was to just sit and let it slide.

All:

There are obviously some differing view points regarding the ethics issue.

We would like to get folks opinions on video if they would be willing.

Please give me a ring when time allows.

Thanks,

Hey Tim - the only way anyone on this board would go on video is if you have some paper shopping bags to put over their heads - ANONYMOUS :-)

"Who cares who files the ethic's complaint anyway?" Was that the question? It completely matters. If some one who is unethical, files ethics charges, that doesn't matter? If someone of "character" filed ethics charges it would have been a different story, possibly believable. However, his pure involvement of being the one to come out of hiding to file the charges, stinks to high heaven. Let's see how it plays out, then decide. Unless however you are one of those people who stand by your man no matter what they do, like John Edwards, our almost VP of our Country. At what point do you realize you've been completely taken for a fool?

What is unethical, according to the last poster?
This ought to be amusing.

Something factual would be refreshing. In this town, it would have been front page news long ago.

Neil's character is unethical, not the act of filing ethic charges. Unethical defined as unprincipled,
unprofessional, with intent to harm regadless of outcome.

Sounds awfully general.
Maybe accessmilton needs a nomination for the MSNBC Honesty & Media Fallen Ratings Award, if that is the best they can come up with.

Dear Neal, What you've handled publicly has been questionable. Because you once served on city council, your character is on the line when it comes to Milton. It is understandable that someone would file a complaint against D'aversa. But what is horribly misunderstood is the damage you all have created in the energy of this place not to mention nasty media coverage for the small "town" you even live in. Just seems it time to let someone else do the dirty work. Your name has been associated with so many ethics charges. What is up with that?? Just think of all the positive influence you could have had. I'm just saying....

Tim and Neal need a sidebar or their own blog, apparently.

Still seeing no specifics about the posters justification for those comments. Seems popular to say people are crooked, unethical, etc but fail to provide any rational examples.
At the same time, it seems weird that the host sounds comfortable with what has been reported on daversa.

Be nice when this is over.

Neal's not going to get tagged for legal fees because the Board has already determined that the complaint has merit.

Whether legal fees can be assessed depends upon the outcome, not merely whether the committee has decided to hear the case based on merit.

There's always civil court.
