Milton begins fall paving Aug. 19.

Milton will begin its fall paving schedule Monday, Aug. 19 -–weather permitting -- said Carter Lucas, Milton’s director of Public Works.
Lucas said the schedule is split into two phases – paving and reconstruction. The first, which will last four weeks weather permitting, finishes up Sept. 14.
Roads to be paved include:
Week 1 (Aug. 19-23)
  • Bray Court
  • Kiltman Court
  • Glendalough Court
  • Buckland Run
  • Providence Lake Drive
  • Lexington Plantation Lane
Week 2 (Aug. 26-30)
  • Wynstead Court
  • Bershire Lane
  • Cannongate Court
  • Petersford Way
  • Croyton Drive
  • Green Road
  • Cogburn Road
Week 3 (Sept. 2-6)
  • Cogburn Road
  • Upland Court
  • Double Creek Lane
  • Mountain Road
Week 4 (Sept. 9-14)
  • Mountain Road
  • Henderson Road
  • Timber Gap Crossing
The second, which begins Sept. 16 weather permitting, is expected to last two months. All work should be finished by early November.
Roads to be reconstructed include:
  • Hamby Road from Hopewell Road to the Forsyth County Line
  • Bethany Road from Providence Road to Alpharetta City Limits
  • Dinsmore Road from Freemanville Road to North Valley Road
Roads will remain open during the paving, but will be reduced to one travel lane. Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes if possible during the construction period, Lucas said.
“But if you must drive through the construction zone, use extreme caution and please drive slowly,” said Lucas.
These roads were identified as being the most in need of repair in the city’s pavement management plan approved in 2009 by City Council. The $2.5 million contract for the projects is to be carried out by Baldwin Paving Company, Inc.
