Three-year plan will guide budgeting, service delivery, growth

MILTON, Ga., April 14, 2011 - Residents are invited to Milton's City Hall Thursday, April 28 from 7 to 8:15 p.m. to provide input on the city's first Strategic Plan, a three-year "road map" for city accomplishments.

The meeting will be held in City Council Chambers, 13000 Deerfield Parkway Suite 107E (click here for directions). Click here to see a map of City Hall.

Please note this meeting is scheduled on the same night as the Hopewell, Francis and Cogburn roads intersection open house, announced yesterday. However, that meeting will be held in the Executive Conference Room (suite 107G) from 5 to 7 p.m., so residents may attend both events.

"At this meeting, we are going to roll out our draft Strategic Plan, which represents the efforts of city staff and representatives of Milton's equestrian, business, residential and educational communities," said City Manager Chris Lagerbloom, who convened the plan's 15-member work group and has overseen its genesis. "It includes the overall vision, mission and strategies of what we would like to accomplish for our community over the next three years.
"The input we receive will serve as a road map for our priorities, infrastructure decisions, approach to growth and the services and programs offered to our community by city government," he said.

Lagerbloom said at the meeting residents will be asked to review the draft Strategic Plan to ensure it captures the spirit of what is important to Milton. It will be moderated by a group of Milton staffers, resident representatives and consultants brought in for this project. Similar, smaller focus meetings have been and are being held for Milton's equestrian community and parent-teacher and homeowners' associations.

"We want to know: Is the plan on track? Is it missing anything? What additional ideas do you have for moving forward?" said the City Manager. "Your participation will be a key factor in the success of this Strategic Plan designed to create that shared vision for the future."
