Those of us here in Cherokee County are hopeful that someone from Milton will run against State Senator Chip Rogers in the upcoming election. I can tell you that a huge number of people from Cherokee would vote for anyone that takes on Mr. Teflon.

How did we get stuck with Chip Rogers? That reactionary redneck is better suited for Cherokee County. All politics no substance.

We were screwed by this redistricting. I heard about Rogers from some friends in Cherokee and from what they have shared I don’t think we are going to be in a good place if we get stuck with him as our state senator. We need someone from Milton to represent us.

What's so bad about him?

My only observation from seeing him on the news is that he looks a little to slick for my taste.

Rogers (and his equally suspect business partner Tom Graves) were the two who ended up getting out of a $2 million loan on their crack hotel.

Even though Rogers couldn't pay for that, he picked up a $300K mortgage foreclosure - for cash - at the extreme eastern end of Cherokee.

I also hear there are other very bad things in his past that are starting to bubble up.

Now don't tell me you want MoM to leave her position in the house to take this senate position. Thank god there is only one of her.

Don't be deceived by Rogers' clean cut appearance. He's a snake oil salesman that'd sell his first born to the highest bidder. Rogers is the Heart of Darkness in an expensive suit.

Dear Senator Potato Head (er, Chip)

A man is known by the company he keeps. Robert Trim. Really?

I just learned more about Chip Rogers and why so many people are upset with him. He and a state rep are leading the charge to take away the peoples voting rights. Right now they can vote for a majority of commissioners (3 out of 5) and Roger’s wants to change it so they can only vote for 2. He’s also taking away votes from the people for the school board members. To make matters worse Chip Rogers is giving money out of his campaign account to a group that is doing robo-calls and postcards to show support for one man one vote. I was also told that this group campaigned against the school splost renewal and Chip gave them the money for that campaign as well. I wonder if those donations from his campaign fund are legal. At the very least someone should file an ethics complaint.

Rogers' kids go to private school. Guess he doesn't care if our kids' schools are funded.
