It's no secret that the City of Milton is a generous place - passing motorists have raised more than $211,000 for the MDA through "Fill the Boot" drives.

It details a clinical trial of a potential therapy for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, which affects children across the world.
"We are optimistic about the outcome of this trial and the potential impact it will have on the lives of our patients," said Angela Brown, fundraising coordinator for MDA. "In the mid-1980's this kind of breakthrough was just a dream, but today because of your support and that of countless others, this exciting trial is being launched."
Milton's A shift will hold its last day of fundraising Friday, Sept. 2. This year alone, the Milton fire department has raised more than $50,000. In the last four years, more than $161,000 has been raised.
