Milton's own Woof 'Em Down Dog Biscuits, a non-profit charity run by Milton brothers Zack and Thomas Eller, would like to encourage residents to adopt a homeless pet from a local shelter or from the Homeless Pets Foundation this October.
"There are 6 to 8 million homeless pets in shelters in the U.S. and of those 100,000 get euthanized in Atlanta every year," said Milton student Zack Eller, who also ran the Milton market this summer. "If we can get one pet adopted from a shelter, we have made a difference."The Eller brothers were honored in 2008 by proclamation from the City of Milton and had Oct. 6, 2008 named "Zack and Thomas Eller Adopt-A-Shelter-Pet Day in Milton" in their honor. This October they will be honored again for their work in the community.
