Milton 5th grader Sanjeev Uppaluri placed third in the National Geography Bee Finals May 22 in Washington, D.C., earning himself a $10,000 scholarship from the National Geographic Society.
Uppaluri, who attends Fulton Sunshine Academy Elementary School in Roswell, was the youngest person in the top 10. To qualify for the nationals, he won the state Geography Bee in Milledgeville April 5.
