A Milton man was charged Thursday with stabbing his girlfriend to death, police said.
Romero Furman, 25, was involved Wednesday night in a domestic fight with 33-year-old Marianela Smith. Both were found stabbed, Smith fatally, in a breezeway outside their North Park apartments when police arrived, police said.
Furman was seriously injured, and was taken to North Fulton Regional Hospital in critical condition. He also has been charged with aggravated assault and cruelty to children. Smith’s 5-year-old son, who is not Furman’s child, was at the apartment, police said. The boy was turned over to his father, police said.
Marcus K. Garner contributed to this story.
