Bring One for the Chipper 2012 Jan. 7.
On Saturday, Jan. 7, Milton Grows Green and the City of Milton are sponsoring "Bring One for the Chipper 2012" as part of a statewide effort to recycle Christmas trees.
This annual event continues over 20 years of tradition of actively participating in environmental education and stewardship by providing drop-off points in the community. The Christmas trees are recycled by chipping them into mulch for use in landscaping, or by using them as fish or animal habitats.
The locations for Milton residents to drop off their trees are:
Milton High School, Birmingham Road entrance 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Home Depot, 5300 Windward Parkway 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Scottsdale Farms 15639 Birmingham Hwy. (Drop off 12/26-1/7)
As a service to the community, Boy Scout Troop 841 will pick up your tree for a $10 donation, and bring it for recycling. For more information, please contact them at treepickup841@yahoo.com.
