ATLANTA (December 6, 2010) – Senator-Elect John Albers (R-Roswell) has been named to State School Superintendent-Elect Dr. John Barge’s transition team.
“Our educational system produces some of the brightest students in the country, but there is much room for improvement. I’m honored by the opportunity to work with Dr. Barge and the transition team to set a vision for the future of Georgia’s public schools,” said Albers. “I am proud that both of my sons attend North Fulton public schools, and just like every student, they deserve the best education we can provide. Moving forward, we must also remember that developing an excellent education system impacts more than just the students; it provides a foundation for the future success of our state.”
As a member of the team, Albers will help coordinate the transition of the Department of Education as Barge prepares to become the state’s 21st school superintendent.
