Milton receives city-wide ISO rating of 4.

The City of Milton recently learned the Insurance Services Organization (ISO) gave the city a rating of 4, which could mean insurance premiums savings in the thousands for local home and business owners.

Previously, Milton held north Fulton County’s split Public Protection Classification (PPC) rating of 4/9, which is used for marketing, underwriting and establishing premiums for homeowners and commercial fire insurance. That meant in some areas of Milton – those under the 9 rating -- insurance companies charged more for coverage.

Due to the tireless work of Milton Fire Department, however, the entire city now shares the rating of four. The number puts Milton in the top 13 percent of cities in the state and top 17 percent nationally.
