This Saturday at Bell Memorial Park the Hopewell Youth Association (HYA) will hold Hopewell Day, kicking off the non-profit group’s in-park baseball tournament and celebrating 25 years of providing local children with recreational programs.
The day will start at 8:30 a.m. with an Opening Pitch Ceremony featuring former Atlanta Braves ace Mark Wohlers, who now coaches a youth team at the park. He will be joined by Trey Farran, a Johns Creek Police Officer, and Tim Cagle, a local CPA with his own Milton-based firm, who both grew up playing baseball at Bell Memorial for HYA and now coach there, as well.
The tournament will then kick off like a big league game, with the National Anthem by young singer Christina Wood.
Throughout the day, there will be raffles, inflatable rides and a dunk tank game for the kids featuring coaches, said Scott Stachowski, Vice President of HYA.
