Cities Are Sharing Employees And Equipment To Help Trim Expenses.
MILTON, Ga. -- Several north Fulton County cities are trimming their expenses by sharing employees and equipment.
Milton and Johns Creek reached an agreement this week to share costs for technology specialists. The contract is expected to save the cities nearly $130,000 combined.
City officials say each one needed a part-time specialist, and the deal means additional IT support.
Johns Creek also shares the cost of a 911 system with Sandy Springs. Johns Creek City Manager John Kachmar says that by sharing the cost, his city saves about $1 million a year.
Milton has established an automatic aid agreement with Alpharetta which essentially erases the borders for fire protection.
