November is Homeless Awareness Month in Milton.

Representatives from Homestretch/Housing initiative of North Fulton, The Drake House, Habitat for Humanity - North Central Georgia, North Fulton Community Charities and Find a Way Home received Nov. 1 a proclamation from the Milton City Council named November “Homeless Awareness Month” in the city.

The organizations, which partner with local churches, faith-based, community-based and educational agencies, provide a continuum of care for families and individuals in North Fulton looking for safe, stable and permanent housing.

This year alone, more than 500 families sought transitional housing assistance in North Fulton. Homeless Awareness Month serves to heighten attention on the existence of the individuals needing help in North Fulton.
