Birmingham Park Great Clean Up

A city wide volunteer effort to clean up Birmingham Park will begin on April 25. This project, spearheaded by Milton Grows Green and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is part of two national clean up programs. "The Great American Clean Up" and "Day Of Service."

With the help of involved local citizens, there is no limit to the possibilities with the park's 202 acres! Some of the groups already committed to the effort include the Milton Business Alliance, student groups from are Middle and High schools, Boy Scout troops, Milton Grows Green volunteers from past environmental projects, and other local churchs and denominations. Planned activities range from repairing and tidying up a house located in the park, to clearing and mowing pastures, clearing an old illegal dump, making road improvements and removing dangerous fencing and fallen trees. Interested groups or individuals are encouraged to sign up to work a half or a whole day on projects appropriate for their fitness and capabilities, under the close supervision of team leaders at each project location.

I am confused, was this the idea of the church or Milton Goes Green, or Julie Bailey?

What difference does it make?

This project is a joint project of Milton Grows Green and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As each began plans for a park cleanup activity as part of a nationwide effort (part of the Great American Cleanup for MGG; part of the Day of Service for the Church), the projects were joined together, approved by City Council, and are being pursued jointly by the two groups, along with many civic, school, church and other groups in the Milton area. Come join us on the 25th, or better yet, email cleanupmilton2009@cityofmiltonga.us to sign up in advance.

Jon,

Did it start out as a joint project, or did JZB just hear about it and then push her way in?

Actually worked out great Pal. Brooke can help out with our business and be productive, rather than driving around all day with dogs and looking for sign violations and smelling gravel roads.

I doon't think the baileys would ever consider even letting anyone else come over to their property and clean up. They are the most giving family that I have ever known. They might come over and help others clean up though, as thats just the way they are!

I'll bet Mr. Bailey would send them a bill!

Yep, thats "Just the way they are...."

All:

Due to abuses in times past, we always confirm comments that have a name attached to them.

Recently, someone was utilizing Gordon Hunter's name in trying to create controversy between volunteer groups who will be working at the Birmingham Park Clean Up event in late April.

In speaking with Gordon earlier today, he has confirmed that he has NOT commented on this story. Thus, all comments which were claiming to be his have been removed in addition to those responding to who they believed were him.

To the violators, we ask you to please treat others as you would ask to be treated. We are all neighbors in Milton, please don't forget that. The volunteer groups, including the various church organizations as well as Milton Grows Green are taking time out of their busy lives to help create a great park for the city. Instead of wasting time trying to create controversy that doesn't exist, why not take these energies and work with these folks at the Great Clean Up?

Should these individuals wish to continue this discussion further, you are more than welcome to reach me by phone - 770 653 0552 or email - sales@magnoliamedias.com.

If you choose to continue to leave comments as you have to date, they will be removed.

To the Hunter family, our deepest apologies.

Keep safe -

So there now.

I am removing my self and services from helping on this GREAT CLEAN UP the HUNTERS and there church have organized. Since JZB is trying to steal the spot light getting involved or using a community project to market her self or agenda there will be a large portion of people in this community that will not want to participate.

That is not a good attidude to have. Will you please still be involved in the Bailey family property clean-up?

Anonymous said...

I am going back to the Chrismas tree business, forget all you fools that are under the Bailey spell. God will set you free.

Anonymous said...

Oh, come on now. You never had any intention of helping anyway. You just want to cause controversy because you cannot understand a person's giving nature.

I'll bet Julie will still be out there with her sleeves rolled up regardless of the cruel comments on this blog. That's truly the way she is.

A "true giving person" would not have so many negative remarks about them. Like on this site alone.

This site is not a good indicator of what the majority of voters think, feel and believe. It was up during the last election and had little to no affect on the outcome.

What matters is what happened at the polls. Majority rules!

Anonymous said...

Ignorant statement.

Anonymous said...

Why would anyone want to pose as Gordon Hunter????

Anonymous said...

'Ignorant' because you disagree with it. Regardless, the polls don't lie.

Anonymous said...

No the polls don't lie.
Its just the person being elected to get the polls that lies.

Anonymous said...

Ignorant because you lack the facts.

Most people commenting on this site were for the election of Tart, Bailey and Hewitt. Who is in office now?

Anonymous said...

Perhaps you should check YOUR facts. The preponderance of comments on this site were negative just like they remain today.

.....obviously the Bailey blog-stalker strikes again. Whenever anyone mentions their name on this website, they go at it again and again and again. Hey, whoever you are, no one cares how you feel about the Bailey's. Sorry they bother you so much. Doesn't the state of the Country concern you more? Hmm.

I think the Bailey's are wonderful. The other night I was at a football meeting for my son and I saw Mr. Bailey. I said to him "your son mush be playing next year", and he replied "no, he isn't".

I thought that it was a little strange that he showed up if his kid isnt playing, but hey there have been stranger things in this world?

I was stuck on the side of the road last year and Ms. Bailey pulled up and asked if I needed help. I told her I needed to call my husband so she let me use her cell phone. Her daughter even offered my dog a piece of her bagel.

I saw the sign on her car that let me know she was trying to get re-elected. I told her that I would vote for her along with my husband, and our neighbors. She was so appreciative and sincere. I didn't want to let her know that we lived in Cherokee County, but she realized it as she drove off and noticed my tag because I saw her flipping me a bird in the rear view mirror.

Her cell phone did smell pretty bad as I remember?

The Bailey's are wonderful and giving to the community. The Birmingham area and HWY 9 area would not be like they are without their involvment. Please dont talk negatively about them.

Anonymous said...

I agree. The Bailey's are wonderful. Thanks Bill and Julie for your contributions to our community.
