first cauley now silva say it aint so joe
silva ain't in the same class as cauley, not relative.
It is so, so get over it! If you are on council then you can choose your own, and you have some real winners so far? If not get off your but and run for office so you can choose.
Silva is a great choice for the Historical Preservation Committee.
Thanks Patti for doing this for our City and for putting up with people who continue to criticize you and ALL those who speak up, speak out, show up, and actually do things for our City without getting paid!
Chicken bloggers don't run for any office. Especially if the bloggers are already seated.
Bawk bawk bawk!
She may be seated already but she is not a chicken blogger, however if you are in the military and need to borrow some money, give her a call.
not knowing her what makes patty such a great choice?
Patti is a concerned citizen who has taken the time to become involved in our community. She is highly energetic, and has a passion for the city that is extremely positive. She knows many of the city's oldest natives, and as a consequence, knows a lot of the stories that make Milton interesting. She is a good choice for this position.
Congratulations Patti!
knowing old people in no way makes her qualified if it did then i would be qualified to run for water commissioner since i know julie zahner bailey
Patti's qualifications don't start and end with knowing some of the local residents. However, if you are going to be involved in the "Historic Preservation Commission" I would think that this is an important quality.
Since you don't agree, what qualities do you think are needed, and who do you think should be considered for this volunteer position? I am sure we could all benefit from your sage wisdom.
someone from the area that actually knows what is old and what is not instead of someone who moved here that will lose interest after a while patti is to bandwagon for everything
Strongly agree with post 12:41 PM. Approach an older resident that actually knew this area before the influx of overwhelming change. What in the world is council thinking when they make these decisions. Actually, not one council member is a long time resident. What qualifies an individual to take charge in Historical Preservation?
I'd like to think I'm fairly qualifed. I'm a lifelong resident, although just short of 34 years, but I've seen far more change and care more about the community than most you'll find.
You don't have to be an "older" resident to have an appreciation for the historical aspects of the area. Also, just because someone is older doesn't mean that makes them a better choice.
I was a board member of the Alpharetta Historical Society and have been involved in developing Milton's policies on historic preservation since the city began.
I also know that Alpharetta isn't Greek for "First Town" like their own website claims. How many folks do you know that believe that without question? I know why the buildings in Crababble are brick instead of wood, I know what that old building alongside of Birmingham Road is, I can name to professional baseball players that listed their hometown as Crabapple, and I have a pretty good idea of where Buffalo Rock is, and most have never even heard of it.
Does all that make me qualified?
Well said.
Very few of those who claim to be "in the know" could compete with us regarding the area that you (34 yrs) and I (33yrs) have known since childhood.
I do want to wish Patti well; as I know she does care about this place. Too bad she didn't see it before all the "change" happened. Oh, how I yearn for those innocent days.

and a full head of hair...
Take this comment for what it is - "We really have some NICE new residents living here in Milton." Too bad they didn't choose another location. Top of the wishlist for
locating elsewhere, Rhonda.
SUNSHINE, you need to find another hobby.
