November 16, 2009 Milton is stepping up its holiday activities this year, promising two dates for family fun.
Linda Blow, volunteer coordinator for the city, said Milton will hold its first tree lighting Sunday, Nov. 29 at 5:30 p.m. at the site of the city tree's new home, the corner of Webb Road and Ga. 9. Blow said the event will include an introduction by Mayor Joe Lockwood, music by local carolers and the tree lighting at 6 p.m.
But that's not all. Milton will hold its second Christmas in Crabapple event Dec. 5 from 4 to 8 p.m. in downtown, historic Crabapple. This year's event features holiday music, hot cider, hot chocolate and s'mores by the fire. Members of Milton High School's Choir will once again sing Christmas carols and horse drawn carriage rides are free.
And for the little ones, Santa Claus will be on hand for any photos ops.For information visit www.cityofmiltonga.us or contact Linda Blow at 678-242-2500.

Yeah Linda....you got it right, Webb Rd instead of Webb Bridge Rd!
I believe the City should hire Linda from Ch2m Hill and make her our "official" events coordinator! She has done a fantastic job every year and we do not need to lose her! Are you listening Milton???
Too late, she's out at the end of the year.
And therein lies the problem with Milton running Milton. What a shame to lose Linda.
Maybe we won't have to surrender the city charter.
Da Bloom is making these decisions with the support of council. FYI - he is not a Milton resident.
The word is that Milton is not able or willing to match the CH2M Hill salaries. People like Linda cannot afford to take such sustantial pay cuts and have to look elswhere.
Sometimes you really do get what you pay for....
Linda got it wrong, it's a Christmas Tree lighting, not just tree lighting.
If I am in downtown Crabapple, how do I get to uptown Crabapple? Do I just cross the street?
