Editor's Note: Early versions of this report incorrectly stated Bill Lusk was unopposed. Al Trevillyan was a qualified write-in candidate who received 901 votes.
MILTON - Joseph Longoria easily defeated incumbent Tina D’Aversa, who entered the final days of the election with a cloud hanging over her candidacy as an ethics complaint was filed against her.
In unofficial returns, Longoria’s 1,903 votes was more than enough to end D’Aversa’s time on council.
Karen C. Thurman keeps her seat with more than 60 percent of the vote in the District 1 race against opponent Bernard W. Wolff.
Mayor Joe Lockwood will keep his seat, as he ran unopposed.
Bill Lusk defeated write-in challenger Al Trevillyan for the District 3 council seat. The incumbent Lusk will stay on council.
