Just heard about this from a friend on Facebook who also hails from the area. It's an absolute shame that all of these properties are being bulldozed in favor of more subdivisions - I don't think I'd really call it "progress."
I doubt those who did not grow up in the area and still have family there will always understand, but every time I go to see my family I end up with a feeling of gloom about the drastic changes. Seems that there is something else gone with every visit.
