Any time a council seat changes, there is a possibility of volunteers who have been assigned to the various boards being removed for another choice.
Such is the case with city volunteer Cary Schlenke. Mrs. Schlenke has been an active participant within the city since it's incorporation. In addition, she held a seat on two boards and was truly a valued member.
At this time, we at Accessmilton.com would like to thank Cary for all her hard work and time donated to the city.
She will be missed.

She's a smart one. So you know it's the political change of guard bring I'm your buddies kind of appointment. Too bad. I hope she's on another board. She's one of the few trustworthy.
This is a huge loss for Milton.
She's been great and it is indeed a huge loss. The new appointment is going to quickly learn that the Planning Commission takes up a lot of time and requires enormous commitment (if done properly that is).
And yes there is talk that the political 'favors' are well under way in District 5.
Good riddance to one of the major "kool aid drinkers."
I dont think she worships her like you think? Cary has a mind of her own.
A very intelligent and capable mind of her own!
I agree with the above poster but she is still another one that has moved here and bought a home in a subdivision that a developer built, then wants to blow up the bridge so no one else can move in. She is still a NIMBY!

Maybe she should not fret about it and just get even, like Joe Longoria did?
But, alas, like Obama, gotta have your Czars from Crooked Creek.
NIMBY means Not in My Backyard. It refers to those who care only about what immediately surrounds them.
Cary has always had the best interest for ALL of Milton in her decision making.
If you're going to throw big words around, please understand what they mean.
Really, is NIMBY a big word?
Apparently.
You are correct, she is a NIMBY by your definition.
People who freely give of their time and intelligence for a common good are rare. If you don't have Milton Citizens with Milton's best interest at heart, like Cary, who's left? It's those with a vested self interest. Follow the money. It should be a conflict of interest for anyone to be appointed to a board where they can financially benefit from the decisions it makes. Citizens need to pay attention because the deck is being stacked.
In our sweet city many have an ace up their sleeve, be careful.
I might be what you call a Nimby, but chances are I've been here longer than you, and I'm packing 33 years of heat.
Don't bet on it.
