City Clerk Jeanette Marchiafava & Milton Part Ways.

Tuesday, December 29, 2009;

The City of Milton continues to be a swinging door as City Clerk Jeanette Marchiafava exited the building this past week.

Marchiafava, who had been with the City since it's incorporation, could not be reached for comment.

Council did hold an executive session at the end of their final meeting of 2009. Was this discussion behind closed doors due in part to this recent departure?

Time will tell but be sure to keep an eye on Accessmilton.com as the story continues to unfold.

if that city mgr would pay attention maybe hed notice the mess of a workplace that city hall has become and not to be offensive but stop letting minorities run the workplace and let everyone just get back to work

Jeanette apparently had no option but to leave... I've heard others are also on their way out. Sad times in Miltonville.

Please explain why Jeanette had no option but to leave.

F-I-R-E-D!!! I'd say that's a pretty good reason to have no option... and just a couple of days before Christmas. That's the way Milton does it, uh huh...

City Management is more than freaking finances. What a major disappointment! Where is the HR person?????? Where is our City Manager? Our Mayor? I don't know what happened to Jeanette, but I do know our sweet town is lacking personnel skills and just common decency during this time of transition. Words left unsaid often hurt the most. Cmon, do the right thing. Be honorable.

What a hoot!!!! What goes around sometimes comes around. Where I came from we call it changing of the guards. Plenty of changes will happen as CH2MHILL leaves the city. Good luck Jeanette!

She wasn't a CH2M Hill employee...so has nothing to do with changing of the guards

It's a shame that the some of the people of Milton have their heads in the sand and do not see what has really and truly happened here. It has NOTHING to do with Ch2m Hill. It has everything to do with the current management style and this will ultimately be the ruin of Milton. It's sad that some have poked jokes at this matter which has created turmoil and probably devastation to one of the key people who helped start up our Milton. You people are insensitive or you're just plain ignorant to the pain of other people. She has children and a husband who have also been hurt by this. Don't add insult to injury by poking jokes... she was a loyal employee to all of us and deserves more respect

I totally agree with the above blogger. Jeanette was a good employee and City Hall is a mess. It's always differet looking from the outside in vs. the inside out. No one is inside not even the mayor and council, they take the word of one person as to what is happening and he isn't mature enough to handle this job.... Talk about a funnel vision. If they only knew or cared about the mood at City Hall, things may be different but they [mayor and council] choose to put their heads in the sand and all of us know what is left above ground to view.....everybody has one!!!!

Well I heard about this blog and had to come and read it for myself. I see where this blogger/post was made and they did not say she worked for CH2MHILL. As some of the CH employees leave the city they will have to make some adjustments which can be done. One dog does not stop the show. Everyone has a way that they run an office or business and I am sure Jeanette had hers. She lasted here this long so you can only see that something major happened for her to leave. I have been there and done that so dont bash me like most people do on here for telling Jeanette Good Luck.

A lot of changes have happened since the City decided to leave the arms of CH2. Some of it makes sense, some doesn't. Not pretending to know everything but it does seems a little ridiculous to have a few people removed from the payroll when the contract was for $7 million... I mean, how much could they have made?? Even if each CH2 employee made a $100,000 per year x 40 employees, that's half a million. I hear those who stayed to be hired onto the City had their payrolls dummed down and it was a take it or leave it thing, but you can figure that those already payrolled by the City didn't take a cut in pay. It's public info what they make and I want to see the figures. I mean if management is all about saving the City money, they can ALL take a paycut along with the staff and pray that if the shoe falls again, it won't be on their positions. Better enjoy the air up there while you can. Keep your ears open Tim.

@7:13-

I think you need to check your math. $100k x 40 people is a little more than half a million.

I went and talked to few people and this is some of things I heard from them. Some of the stuff I heard I have no choice but to agree with the I poster above that says what goes around comes around. The city must of understood and even knew more to fire her quickly.

Anonymous said...

Are you saying she was justly fired? it's hard to conceive...what was the basis??? It had to be solid to hire someone who had been there since the very beginning. Please enlighten the rest of us...

i wonder if it has more to do with a disgruntled employee, and how this or any complaint is handled by upper management. This has everything to do with proactively instilling a healthy happy work environment for employees whether COM or CH2M and in my humble opinion, more energy ought to be spent there first. Our sweet town can only be as great as the people who work at the center of it all, City Hall. We've had a rough time from day one in this area and letting go of CH2M and going solo is not the solution. It's only part of the solution IF we can get it right! The people most affected are not CH2M employees. They are on our City's payroll.

So what steps will our new and improved management team take now? Please take care of our employees. It really is more than just a paycheck to most of them. You just can't see that yet and more value needs to be placed on retaining the very best. After all, we ALL are Milton.
