Hero of the month for December - Milton Fireman Josh Payne!

Milton Fireman Josh Payne

1. Why did you become a fireman?

I became a fireman because I like helping people. I like having lots of fun and love putting myself in dangerous situations. Also, I am a people person and with this job I get to talk to lots of people which makes me very happy.

2. How many years have you been in this profession and where else have you worked?

I have been a fireman for 6 years. I started when I graduated from high school volunteering with the Alpharetta Fire Dept. From there I was full-time with the City of Hapeville where I worked for 4 ½ years before coming to Milton.

3. What has been your proudest moment since becoming a Milton Firefighter?

I do not have one proud moment. Since I was born and raised in Milton I am proud every day because my parents still live in the City of Milton along with lots of friends and family. Knowing that I protect them in this community every day that I come on duty is a proud moment.

4. What is your favorite food?

Steak & potatoes along with Reece’s Peanut Butter Cups.

5. What is your favorite movie?

Not one but several. I am a movie buff.

6. Who is your favorite Singer?

This is a toughie because I am obsessed with music. I have over 1500 cds. I go to tons of concerts but I would guess if I had to choose Van Halen is my number one followed by Hank Junior and then all old school country. I like heavy metal music and all rock and roll. So music is in general one of my favorite things.

7. What is your favorite automobile?

Lifted truck that have lots of horse power.

8. What are your hobbies?

Hunting, fishing and anything outdoors.

I had the misfortune of having to go to the hospital last year by ambulance, after my husband had to call 911.
The fire department responded within minutes. Fortunately for me, , Josh Payne was one of the three firemen to respond. They were very professional and comforting. They waited until the ambulance arrived before they left.
Josh Payne and the other two firemen were my heroes that particular day.

I have had the honor to see Josh grow up from being a good kid to the true hero he is today. He is always positive and always willing to go that extra mile to make sure things are ok with others.

When I heard that Josh would be working for Milton, I was more than pleased - I was proud.

Residents in Milton can sleep easy knowing that Fireman Josh Payne is looking out for them. I know I am.

Come on folks. We all know if a comment has to be deleted it's pretty bad. For goodness sake he's a Fireman, not a cop. From what I know this city loves the firemen, and destains the police. I dont get it.I guess yall dont like anyone who tries to help, serve, and protect the communinty. Well I will say good job to anyone who does the jobs other's wont. Heres a plan for everyone who writes the deleted comments, next time your hurt,or something DONT call 911 and take care of yourself

Ok. Folks; Tim Enloe the admin here. Nothing bad has been said about Mr. Payne. Not sure if you have noticed, but we have been experiencing quite a bit of SPAM as of late. They build up over time and we have to go in and delete them.

Simple as that. Check around to some of the other posts and you will see.. we might have overlooked one or two.

Milton is lucky to have Josh Payne.
