I wanted to let you know what happened here last night/this morning.
We, here is the Hermitage, had 3 (possibly more) homes broken into around 5:30am this morning. The one victim/neighbor I have spoken with said that the burglars “preyed a garage window open, lifted the blind and pulled the emergency cord on the garage door and put it part way up”. They entered the house through the unlocked door to the house and the alarm went off, but before they ran they were able to grab a purse off of the kitchen island and take a bicycle from the garage. After daylight, the bicycle and the wallet that was inside the purse (with only about $6 missing) were found outside the pool fence. The purse, checkbook and cell phone are the only things missing.
What makes this particularly disturbing to me is that this home had 2 cars in the garage and 3 cars in the driveway. There is no way they thought there was no one home – they just didn’t care. Very bold and scary.

Several years ago I was the unfortunate victim of a break-in.
Because we are so close to both Cherokee and Forsyth Counties and there is virtually no cross cooperation between the police, the get-a-way and disposal of my property wasn't much of a problem.
Interesting enough a few old timers said, "It's dem D---N
T----r's again and guess what, they were right. A rather well known family of thieves living just up Hopewell Road who have spent most of their sorry lives in and out of Reidsville.
