YOU WANT BELIEVE WHAT IT IS GOING TO TURN INTO. IT WAS APPROVED FOR DRY WASTE BUT IT ISN'T BEING USED FOR THIS PURPOSE.I WAS IN WASTE BUSINESS FOR 20 YEARS.WAYNE HUIZENGA, OWNER OF MIAMI DOLPHINS OWNS THE LANDFILL AND WASTE COMPANY THAT RUNS IT THE TRUCKS THAT I AM REFERRING TO ARE ON 372 OR BIRMINGHAM HIGHWAY 5 TO 6 TIMES A DAY. HOPE WE CAN STOP TREE CUTTING AND CLEARING SEEMS NO ONE CAN BUILD A HOUSE, WITH CLEARING THE LAND FIRST.WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD BEING A PART OF MILTON GA. I am in complete agreement with judy and john. I enjoy driving down the road and seeing the old rustic houses. One thing that made me smile was the old building at the corner of Thompson Rd. and Hopewell Rd. The building has a sign on it saying Milton Court House. I think that the city should build a court house that appears to be a very old building. There aren't alot of people so we don't need a court house like Roswell has. I would also like to add that I have heard about some people wanting to widen the roads and I feel that the roads adds to the city's feel. I know of a couple places that could use a traffic light though. Well, those are my thoughts about my home town.
My immediate concern is how the city will get off the ground. From reading the "Assessment of Fiscal Viability" report prepared by CVIOG for the legislature, it appears that in order to to provide services based upon the Fulton county's current estimates we will immediately face a potential property tax increase of over 1 mill. The interim Commission has published an anticipated budget that indicates a surplus of revenues. If that is the case then we should begin to demand an immediate property tax decrease. That same report produced by CVIOG also shows that we would have a budget surplus if we adjusted expenses to that of a similar sized GA city. We've been overpaying for years to support the Fulton County services, now it's time to pay a more reasonable level given the size of our city.
I have lived on Bethany road since 1978. My parents moved my family here from Dunwoody. I too have been frustrated with the lack of planning on foresight that has hindered this area. However, I am running with the hopes of being able to relate all citizens concerns, both new folks as well as "locals." Please call me at 770 653 0552.
I want Milton to become a place that isn't afraid to spend on education. The new Milton High should have been much bigger and more grand, but instead short cuts were made and the school is not what it could have been. We need to build more schools all over Milton to and invite people from all over the world to come and live in Milton and enjoy the education facilities that we have built. I dream of a Milton where little Mexican children fill the halls and learn to speak English and mix with our children to create a beautiful society in Milton, Georgia. Cathy
We have live here only for 3 years, but we absolutely love it!! What is very concerning is the growth and development in the few years since we moved in to our house!! We are very concerned about losing the beautiful horse farms, acres of trees and pastures, and the rural feel to housing developments - which is happening at a fast pace! Not only do we stand to lose the beautiful rural nature of our area, the peace and 'quiet', but we will also lose traffic flow - congestion is alreadiy evident in one of the most beautiful areas in metro Atlanta!! I grew up in Atlanta, and have lived in 6 other states and have found my way home. PLEASE appreciate the very special area we call home - it is like no other in which I have lived! What should we consider? - increase zoning to greater than 1 acre, protect and preserve the beautiful horse farms - give them tax breaks or whatever it takes to keep them in tact...limit development... thank you!
Think about voting for a Mayor that is presserving horse farms and proposing incentives for people to downgrade their zoning or keeping their property, instead of one that has relationships with residential developers right in his own backyard. Ride down Freemanville Road and look for his big sign next to the future development of White Columns, instead of the other canidates signs on farms and individual landowners and homes.

You people need to grow up and quite bitching and moaning. It is called progress adapt or shut the hell up.

if ragsdale is elected the mayer of milton we are all in for a hell of a dizzy ride. ragsdale will be the worse mayer that milton ever had.
